After another difficult day at the shop I took off for a little decompression ride down to the river and back.
With a strong wind from the south (up to 18 mph) really wasn't expecting much. Matter of fact when I started hammering I would make myself back down.
There is only one road crossing on the Greenway where the cars have the stop sign and the bikes have the right away. If I would not have been watching him I would have been plastered by a car that ran the sign. Stupid people every where.
I started the climb from the river fine but soon tired and I just backed off. I'm still in recovery from Sat. 100K.
The wind on the back side was nasty until I got by Cedar Lake and I could get a little wind break from the trees.
I was only passed by one guy (on a Cevelo TT bike). That one didn't bother me :)
The south section pack into St. Louis Park I rolled up behind a guy and draftged off him for a while. When we hit the little hill at 169 and Excelsior I stomped on it, blew by him and never saw him again.
When I got back to the shop the stress of the day was burned and I felt great!

It was another rough Monday at work. My plans were to ride the gravel trails (the Purgatory Park Loop) after work leaving at 5 pm. @ 5:45 I was finally wrapping things up. I thought of bailing on the ride but reminded myself I waited all winter for weather like this. Off I went!
My whole goal here was to keep a moderate pace and spin out some sore muscles. I found after I got warmed up I felt surprisingly good!
The only event of this ride was riding up on a guy in the swamp north of 7. He had a flat. I asked him if he needed any help and he offered to buy a tube off of me. I told him don't bother I'll give it to you. Then I looked at his tire. He was on a mountain bike (26 inch wheels schraeder valve) and my tube was a 700c X 23 presta. He said he had a phone and thnaked me for stopping.
At least I tried to do my good deed for the day!
