Picked up the packet....drove the route, very flat, shady, nice. It is a huge triangle, so only 3 turns and traffic will be completely closed off. Freaked a bit when I saw the transition area, about a million times more people do this race than the one I volunteered for in July. Microchips, rules, the real deal. I am so ready. Just mark my body and let me go already. Tired, but PSYCHED. Off for my beauty rest.
Going to HH today to pick up race packet and walk the run/bike course, as well as check out the chop of the ocean. Whooohooooo!

Taught my class today in ideal water temp...then followed with an easy swim.
600yard freestyle with my eyes closed in the water (sighting only when I came up to breathe). Was much more comfortable with my eyes closed this time.

Nice easy warm-up on the e. trainer and then a good 20 minute run. Trying to reduce volume, but keep intensity high.
Excited now more than nervous.

Nice easy swim today, water felt great.
Nice class today when they finally quit whining about the 83 degree water temp...two weeks ago they were whining about the 91 degree water temp....argh.
Good light swim. There was a lady swimming in the lane next to me who was obviously a competitive swimmer. I started talking to her and she is training for her third IM and hoping to qualify for Kona. She is doing a relay leg of my little sprint this weekend. She is the run leg, she says swimming is her worst leg....she passes me with the kickboard while I am doing my speedy free-style. BUT....she said she would kill to have strong shoulders like mine! Oh yeah, little miss IM wants my shoulders.....that's okay, I'll see her flying by me on Sat. and I will be comforted in the fact that the fast IM lady who just wasted me was checking out my shoulders on her way by.
