Marcy commented in her blog yesterday about my conversation with my sister. It was very funny when she told me about my dad describing IM to her. She then asked, "how many days do you take to do this?" So I got to do the remedial IM for her. I sent her my Javelin pic, and she said "you look like a football player, you have a huge neck" ummmm thank you, I think....maybe. Then she said, "you actually wear that stuff outside?" Now thats some funny shit there! My family just doesn't get it. its frustrating. I've already decided that I wont call my Dad any later than 4/09 when im still in Texas. I don't want the negative vibe at all in Az. But I will enjoy calling him Monday morning.
Early morning intervals on the CT. I have HOA tonight, so I can't go to yoga. Maybe I do need to get that Rodney Yee video.....

wow, that run hurt. There was a 20 minute tempo run in there that was fast, but once it was done, I was so wiped, the rest of the run was slower than normal. Still a good workout. Every last workout, good or otherwise leading up to April 13th will make me stronger, and more able to handle the day.
I love IM training!!!!!

There was lots of stopping and chatting in the swim tonight, so the total time doesn't really do justice to how I felt in the water. I felt really fast for me. The first several 200s were about 2:17 average per 100. Then I was sharing a lane with guy that swims in a shirt, and flails, but is really fast. he hit me 3x, and would swim behind me and draft, so I couldn't really just turn and get off the wall because he was always right there.....that was a bit annoying. But I have to give the guy credit. he's always there, and he's faster that you think he would be wearing a basketball jersey.
Got my Javelin suit yesterday. I looked at it and said "this will look really good.....in the closet" The damn thing actually fits! And It doesn't completely look like a sausage suit. Woo Hoo for IM training, and for slow weight loss, and for continued body composition changes!

Trinity trails Can you say windy?
Comutrainer IMAZ
What a disjointed day! We started with the best of intentions to put as mush time on the trail outside today as we could. The winds were blowing 20, and it was 43 degrees. It was cold, and the benefit to riding into the big headwinds could not be outweighed by a quality trainer ride where we can stay in the right zones. That was until we did the longest trainer ride that either of us have done. If I owned a gun........2.5 hours was all I could stand. It does put us under the plan for the day, but I could not have done that for another 90 minutes. Pretty good run after, but it was a little long after to be considered to be a transition run.
What a screwy workout day it was!

Outside
Inside
Fun run today broken into 2 parts. We decided to park at the Keller Pointe and run from there. It was supposed to rain, so we figured that we'd run until the rain started, and then head into the point to finish the run. We started with just a little spitting rain that didn't even make you wet. I decided I was going to get out and run until I really didn't want to be wet and cold anymore. I went out to the turn around (out and back course), and as soon as I looked back to the start, I could see the rain coming. The thunder started just then too. Immediately I threw out the 4:1 in the interest of getting out of the thunder and lightening. I have to say that I am unbelieveably impressed with how well I did coming back, running low 11's, and even some 10xx miles. Yes it was starting to get cold, and very wet. The worst of the rain didn't start until the last 1/3 of a mile before the pointe. then it started to get very cold, and I was soaked! but still smiling! We were smart enough to bring a change of clothes, and another pair of shoes and socks for just this occurance. Went inside, changed, and started running the track. I went ever faster on the track......my fastest miles were my last 2.....Wow.
I ran sub 10.25 miles at sub 12 pace, in zone 2!
Now im sore, and I think we have a nap in our future.
