I missed 100 in the swim somewhere.....bummer.  Felt really unbalanced for the first 1200but then it got much better.  My all out 100's were a lot slower than they used to be...

Short swim on the schedule today 2500.....

Heres a pic from Karens album of our group ride on Saturday.

ART therapy was not too painful, but PT had me so close to crying.......He had to stop and tell me to breathe 2x.  It hurt sooooooo badgood.  He was describing what he felt that was wrong, and felt very confident he could correct it!  woohoo!  He was seperating my IT from my HS or quad.  It apparently was partly adhered.  God that hurt so bad!

OMG......Marcy and I were just talking about dropping our bikes off at RBM for Tri-Bike Transport, and wew realized that we drop them off NEXT WEEKEND!!!!

Run
  • 1h 07m
  • 5.06 miles
  • 13m 14s /Mi

Without a doubt, the worst run of 2008.  RPE was thru the roof the whole time, but the actual HR was well into zone one.  I had no energy, and in general a shitty attitude about another 50 minutes.  It was too easy to walk away from the rest of the workout, and im disappointed I did.....but I did.  I asked myself if I could have done that for another 21 miles....and the answer is if it was 4/13, yes I could.

So even thought the weekend workouts were short, I came off the bike on Saturday with zero fatigue.  I could have ridden 100 easily, and as bad as the run was I could have done this for 26 miles.  I felt a multitude better yesterday off the bike.

He rides!  We got together with a great group ride that DGillen and Kproudfoot led.  Wemust have had 15 or so riding today.  We went a little over 2 hours with only 1 short period of the IT even making its presence known.  Once I felt it, I backed off for about a mile, and I never even felt it after that.  It felt good to be on the bike, and it felt even better to go hard on a few sections.  Run after was not much of a brick....it was about 20-30mins after the bike, but I negative split that run!

Swim
  • 17m
  • 650.00 yards
  • 02m 37s /100 yards

Didn't even make it thru the warmup before 20 blue haired bitties kicked me out of the pool for water aerobics.  That explains why the water felt so warm when I got in.  I'll move the swim to tomorrow since under 20 minutes hardly counts anymore.

Had my refit today for my new shoes and pedals.  So I spent 10-15 minutes spinning on the trainer...it felt good again......we'll see tomorrow!

Distance estimate

Run tonight went well.  The Lunch reappearance count=2.  The first 2 intervals were too fast.  By the 3rd interval I had the pace figured out that would keep me where I needed to be to not go too hard.  My Garmin had the same problem it did on Saturday.  It went thru all of its intervals back to back, and the memory was filled because of it, so thats why the distance is an estimate.

The Art doc said, and I quote...."you've had this problem for a very long time, but its never manifested itself until you started to put in huge volume"  Apparently as he explains it, my IT issue is related to being so overweight for so long, it made a small portion of the band overwork constantly. It has now basically lost its elasticity.  Without the ART, the band stays tight and continuously gets inflammed.  With the ART he can break the adhesions up, and get the band back to being flexible again.  Not as good as new, but very good.  The bad new is, that when its all broken up, it ill basically act like new muscle.......read unconditioned muscle.  Its going to take 8-10 session to break it all down.  I have 8 scheduled up to Monday of race week.  If worse comes to worse, I'll try to find him in AZ, as he'll be in the water at 7am on 4/13 too.  The PT gave me exercises to strengthen the inner part of my quad, since that is causing my knee cap to move too far to the outside of my leg.  This will help keep the IT from rubing too.  Im just falling apart!

Tonights workout will be fun........LT run!  I'll report back with how many times I tasted my lunch...the second time
