It's time to get my ass back in gear!

Wow, nobody warned me that the foam roller, and the stick hurt more the 2nd day. Ouch It was enough to work up a sweat actually
The run felt ok. I was very tentative on the knee, but no problems. My hi was actually pretty stiff though. I was underdressed, and 20 minutes out I was freezing cold once the heavy rain came.
Its a recovery week for us this week, and next week seems awful light until you look at the weekend. I think this recovery week will be easier than the last, becasue I am so concerned about my IT, that this will be a welcome chance to let it heal up as well as possible. I think this week will be one of the few chances left to take care of any "things" that need to get done. I think this will be list week. Figure out what we still need, and figure out what will need to be done around the house, and the rest of our life before 4/13. I know taxes are on the list, but I know there are other things too.
I'd be lying if I said I am ok with missing 5 hours on Saturday. I was adamantly told by Patti that this week is a new week, and none of that matters anymore. Recovering is the only goal for the week, so basically it was suck it up, and dont train! Next weekend is our 2x 7.5hour rides. I can't imagine what that will feel like.....especially the second day.
It all seems to be so real now, where for the past several weeks its been just training. Im doing more than I ever thought I would, or could, and I want more. Someone pass the Kool-Aid please.....

I took the girls for a walk today while Marcy ran. I'll do my run tomorrow. I felt very good. I could feel a little tweaking when I stepped on uneven ground or shifted weight side to side, but other than that, all was good. Our coach was happy with my decision
I feel mostly back to normal, but still a little bit of knee pain. I was very bummed yesterday, but so far today I am very optomistic about the progress. I foam rollered yesterday, and surprisingly it didn't really hurt. I'll keep up with that every day, and stretching and icing and hopefully (fingers crossed) i'll have most of the problem licked.
I think it will be wise to take it easy today, and do my run tomorrow. I'll walk today to keep it moving, I do not want to set it back at all.
Im over the drama from yesterday. I know that it is just one day in the grand scheme of things. If I had missed it completely for no good reason, that is much different than what happened. Im just looking at the big picture.

Yeah...i tried
Well.....the ride did not work out the way I wanted. After about 2hrs, I was having severe IT pain, and nothing I did would make it go away, or for that matter, get any better. I thought it wiser to limit my losses and not cause myself to get injured, so I got off the bike. That was such a hard decision to make, but looking at the big picture I know it was the right thing to do. I went to the LBS to have them check the fit real quick, and my left cleat had in fact moved from the orirional position. Everything was fixed up quickly, so next week.....im back at it. We'll see how the run feels later, after Marcy is done with her ride.
OMG......im doing an IRONMAN......next month! Very scared.
We are heading out on the trails at 7 this morning. It's going to be a long day. 7 hours in the saddle, and a 60min run after. I don't think its possible to keep up with the calorie intake. I expect to burn about 11K calories. Coach Patti wants me to try to take in 100-150 more calories per hour on the bike. Im going to try today, and I think I'll know pretty quickly if I can handle it or not. I'll either decorate the side of the trail, or i'll be good.

Good swim tonight! I had several sets that were really good, and some that were flailing. I tried mostly to be smooth and comfortable. I really wasn't into it, and I was looking for it to be over, and now it is!
Getting everything together for tomorrow morning. Its gonna be a long day. I will be my first century....at least it better be.....

Trainer on IMAZ
Bike just before yoga. then yoga....yum.
Work has been keeping me stupid busy this week. We just had a exectuive shake up, which is for the better, and other people left, so lots of responsibilities got added. One for me that I am really not good at. Oh well, I'll have to learn to do it well. Im just sooooo not a details person.

Zone 1 Trainer ride
15min zone1 - 1.18m 12:45
35min zone2-3 2.97. 11:57
10min zone4 - .93. 11:03
10 min walk cooldown
I guess I am too tied to my HRM and not aware enough of my RPE. my HR wasn't reading right, but it ook me a good 20minutes to realize it. I was running way too fast to get my HR into zone 2. it would get there, then drop down to 1. I was running way too fast at times to be able to hold it, so I really am disappointed at the run as a whole because I could not accomplish what I was supposed to. Oh well.....I ran......thats always a good thing.
I hate that BT forums have started to become argumentative again. Its been a year or so since it was like that before, but it seems like every thread that has anything to do with opinion gets snipey and people get defensive. Some are offering opinions as the only option, and no one else can say anything. Grow up everyone. Life is too short to alienate.....
Happy 15th Anniversary to my special baby! Im so blessed to have her. She puts up with me, and smiles about all of my faults....even though she laughs about some of them. But thats what its like to be married to your best friend.

Just voted. I don't ever remembering a pollng place with NO pollsters outside...not one. They were also pushing hard for people to return for the caucases(sp) at 7:15.
