The Great Blueberry Revolution - 2012

So I decide to take Patti out and try this new pizza place about 2 miles from our condo. I'd ridden by it several times on my way to the mtn bike trails around Willow Lake. We drive over there and go in. We'd had bad luck finding a good pizza place since we moved here. We tried Nick & Willie's and it was basically tomato ketchup on warm cardboard. Then downtown we tried another spot and it was marginally better. So here we go. First tip-off to problems are the hours on the door. Open from 11 AM-3 PM, Mon - Thurs and 11 AM-7 PM on Fri - Sat. Uh, kinda weird hours but OK. So we go in and the woman says "can I help you?" Uh, sure, can we sit down cuz we want to order a pizza. "Sure...do you have reservations?" Huh? FOR A PIZZA??? WTF, do you want a passport and 3 forms of identification too? So it's off to Applebee's instead.
What is wrong with this part of the country. Nobody eats blueberry pancakes and you can't get a decent pizza, and maybe when you think you can, you need a reservation!

Mtn bike ride around the Willow Lake area. Same ride as Sunday but the wind today was incredible, gusting to 45 mph according to the TV news. At one point it was so bad I was in the small chainring (on a triple) on the flats!

With all that my wonderful wife puts up with, I figured it was a good time to devote this song to her, one that I've been working on. I think I'll sing it to her today!!
"In Spite Of Ourselves" by John Prine
She don’t like her eggs all runny
She thinks crossin’ her legs is funny
She looks down her nose at money
She gets it on like the Easter bunny
She’s my baby, I’m her honey…I’m never gonna let her go
I ain’t got laid in a month of Sundays
She caught me once, I was sniffin’ her undies
I ain’t to sharp, but I get things done
I drink my beer like it’s oxygen
But she’s my baby, and I’m her honey…I’m never gonna let her go
In spite of ourselves, will we end up sittin’ on a rainbow
Against all odds, honey we’re the big door prize
We’re gonna spite our noses right off of our faces
There won’t be nothin’ but big old hearts dancin’ in our eyes
She thinks all my jokes are corny
Convict movies make her horny
She likes ketchup on her scrambled eggs
She swears like a sailor when she shaves her legs
She takes a lickin’ and keeps on tickin…I’m never gonna let her go
I got more balls than a big brass monkey
I’m a wacked out weirdo and a love-bug junkie
I’m sly as a fox, and crazy as a loon
Pay day comes and I’m howlin’ at the moon
But she’s my baby, and I’m her honey…I’m never gonna let her go
In spite of ourselves, will we end up sittin’ on a rainbow
Against all odds, honey we’re the big door prize
We’re gonna spite our noses right off of our faces
There won’t be nothin’ but big old hearts dancin’ in our eyes
