Smooth aerobic pace down the back side of Thumb Butte. A bit faster than the other day.
Power climb up the steep side of Thumb Butte. Felt like I was right on my aerobic limit all the way up. The effort was a lot harder than the other day, and the time reflected that. 17:09 was 1:11 faster than my previous best. Split time at the bench turn was 9:42 and that was 51 seconds quicker than my previous split. Shorter rest break at the top too, maybe a minute or less before I started running down.

Ran down the back side from the top of Thumb Butte. Not as fast as the last time, but just took it easy at a nice relaxed pace. Good quad muscle work.
Power hiked to the top of Thumb Butte. Felt better than the last time, still pretty winded at the top but covered the 0.8 miles in 18:20 which was 40 seconds quicker. 10:33 split to the hairpin turn at the bench. Rested a couple of minutes before doing the relaxed jog down the back side.
