Retired 3x Ironman
June 30
5th day off in a row and I am going stir crazy. The soreness is gone but the burns are still painful and now, when I change the "non-stick" guaze, skin is coming off and starting to bleed.
Tomorrow, I am getting on the bike and suffering through a 30-45 minute easy spin, just to start the blood moving again. It might be kinda funny, since I most likely will have to take Vicadin to be able to keep peddling.
The wounds are healing nicely, it's just the edges that are killer now.

The healing is continuing. My soreness is gone but the skin abrasions, burn and lack of, are still hurting like crazy. It's now been 6 days without a good nights sleep. I feel like I am in a dream. It's almost surreal.
I posted a picture of the healing in my albums if anyone is as curious as my 5 year old. She said it looked like steak.

***Body Update***
I went to the doctor yesterday to make sure I had not injured myself worse than I thought and was pleased to hear that I was not.
Seperated left shoulder, 1st and 2nd degree "burn" on my upper back/left shoulder and minor road rash on my ankle, knee, hip, and elbow. No breaks.
My neck and upper shoulders are still sore from the wipelash but other than that I am lucky. Everything should be healed in 1-2 weeks.
On another note, I have an Olympic Distance race in 3 weeks and am starting to get the itch to get moving again:)

Another "recovery day" and some visits to the doctor's office to x-ray my shoulder, elbow and hip. I didn't sleep very well last night, even with 1000mg of acetaminephine. The 4 advil helped at 11:30 and then an ice pack over dressing. I fell asleep and didn't wake until 3am. Then it was restless until 7am when I could not be on my right side any longer.

Travel day back home. The most painful 6 hour car ride I have ever had.
