Yesterday afternoon I passed my stress test with flyinbg colors! two Navy doctors one was a US Navy SEAL and Diver doctor who administered the test. Their target was 85% of max HR and ended up I reached 100% max HR of 186 bpm and beyond...actually they pushed me to 105% and I was only at Borg RPE Chart, RPE 12 so all this time I was connected to an EKG machine and the other doctor taking my BP as elevation of the tread mill and speed went up gradually. THey said all EKG results were normal throughout the test, I did not feel that left arm pain and BP by the way just eliminating controlling some salt is now normal at an average of 130/78 and I've been taking it 3 times a day at different intervals....they listed on my health record "Optimal performance and cleared for extreme sports activities..." The doc gave me the hands up and said..."you are on the right track...keep it up buddy and Go Navy on your triathlon race this October....then found out he too does triathlons...he then was nice enough to hand me a book and told me it was mine and that I might appreciate it....it was "The First to Touch The Wall...100 years of Olympic Swimming" It's a book that gives you tid bits of info about the Olympic swim from Athens, 1st ever Olympics to the present...wow, the first Olympic compettion in Greece was open water swim at 55 degrees...so really it was the swim tri portion of what we do....to think they had that concept before was amazzing...anyway, these doctors were good docs who understood how a 52 year old retired sailor still wants to push hard...
Now, I can train in peace. Next stop is a chiropractor to see where that stupid arm pain is coming from....still think it is radiatingf from my old left shoulder injury....
