Okay this Mother's day turned into a Multi Sports Mother's Day!  My wife told me she wanted to spend Mother’s Day with me and our son Kaden at Ft Ritchie lake practice swim to prepare he for Assateague this June.  She did not like to attend the previous day's seminar as the flyer said "This is for those who already feel comfortable in open water..."  So both she and I took this to mean that it was definitely for your experienced triathletes only.  So we decided we were just going to spend time here at home for mother's day; however, Saturday afternoon, she changed her mind and asked me to take her there the following day.  So Saturday we went to Transition Tri store to rent her a farmer john which she loved!  I swam in my full wetsuit and I swear to God I still hate the feel of the full wetsuit specially in the arms.  I will have to try a farmer john as even Ken, the organizer told me it is more natural in feel and besides the water temp was at 66 degrees so it was good!  My wife did just fine although she does mostly sides stroke and did find the wetsuit a bit restrictive in feel and I told her that that was a natural feeling but over all she did not panic and did 4 laps, 3 of them non-stop so that was awesome.  I wore my Tri club t-shirt but no one approached me so I figured I was the onlyFrederickclub member there although I Ken the organizer is also a member.

After the swim we headed home took the dogs (boxer: Butkus and poodle:Coco) for a 2 mile walk at C&O canal. Then my wife ran 1.5 miles and then I told them to head home as Kaden was getting tired.  I ran a total of 5 miles in the Canal and a mile back home which is elevated with gradual increase the whole mile until my doorstep.  It felt good of course....

We then went to Isabela's for tapas.  I just had grilled trout which was awesome....oh and white sangria of course!  Great Mother's Day!
