Great Ride! My best time for a 40K and my best time on this particular route that we do at least once a week. Went out with the big boys and almost managed to keep up:-)

This was supposed to be the Canada Day 4K swim, but instead I got my first ever DNF:( Had a terrible time with breathing, could not find my steady state place and struggled the entire time. I was coughing and wheezing badly and decided that something was not right, so I got out of the water and decided to fight this mountain another day. I had difficulty breathing the rest of the day and as it turns out, I was not the only one, several of my friends who did the swim had issues with breathing too which continued throughout the day. I was also told by the very nice people who got me to shore that I was not the only one that had to call it because of breathing problems.

I know I can swim 2k+ easy on any given day. My objective of the day was to see whether my shoulder could deal with the 4K distance and that right now remains an unanswered question.
