Yikes! I never have been so happy to have a swim cut short by lightening before! My abs are killing me from yesterday's workout - who knew swimming would be effected by that??

2200-2300 swim - this was a 45 minute swim to see what distance you could achieve. Despite having rocks at the end of the pool to track my distance (1 rock moved per 200), I still lost track; at least 2 200s I forgot where I was. Also, the first 2-3 200s I not only stopped to move the rock, I took off my goggles to check my time, so I didn't get the full benefit of this workout. Also, since i"m not used to going straight from home to saturday swim, I ate a bagel and drank coffee. Apparently, I drank too much as my stomach sloshed for a good portion of the set and i kept retasting that bagel! I also think I was a bit lazy with my new stroke and may have fallen back a bit into my old stroke. Still, i was ok with the result.

ok, I'm feeling pretty good about this new swim stroke - even if it is killing me as I get my muscles used to the change. This morning, Charlene was in the pool doing the warm up before I got in. When I finally dove in, she was at the opposite end. It took me no time to catch and then pass her! She is a faster swimmer then I am, so this was amazing to me. It must have been amazing to her too b/c when she finished she remarked to Mark that I had "smoked" her and asked what the heck was up! He told her we had been working on my pull. When he told me that, I almost asked what this "we" part was; but decided not to be mean:)

By the end I was complete toast. Can't wait til I adapt and can really enjoy the new stroke.
