Lions Pond OWS
Swam with Adam on an approx. 600 yard loop twice. Focused on extending my entry arm further and grabbing the water with my fore arm. Seemed to help a lot since I was able to have a better pull.

Rode the Peace Trail to HWY 11 to Read Rd and back. Winds 9MPH out of the SW and temps in the high 70's at 5:30 AM. Made sure to stay in Z1 or low Z2 for the ride. Went to high Z2 while biking into a headwind.

Legs still pretty tight from yesterday's run. HR monitor was all over the place since I was sweating a lot. Ran what I felt was Z1/low Z2. Legs felt good after about the 1/2 mile mark. Wanted to go faster, but knew I had to save my legs for some bigger workouts this weekend. Temps were in the 80's and the sun was out. Heat didn't really bother me.

Janesville Aquathon

1000m 2 loop swim at Lions Beach. Started swimming too wide of turn one. Temps were in the high 90's and I was hot in the wetsuit. Got into a nice rhythym and picked up the pace on lap two. Didn't start my Garmin and didn't know what my swim split time was. I'm guessing since I swam a little on some of the turns that my time was a little slow. Otherwise felt great in the water.

Janesville Aquathon
Transition was really fast. Maybe was in and out in :30. Legs were sore and I was a little disoriented coming out of the water. Temps and humidity were high. Run course took us toward the Armory, back on Palmer Dr and then to the bike trails. Very flat course, but also not much tree cover to block the sun. One aid station, but we went past it 3 times. At about the 3/4 mile mark I realized I was in 3rd place and picked up my pace. The two guys in front of me were too far ahead to catch. Finished strong with a time of 39:30 give or take a few seconds. Really wish I had my time splits. Run time is an estimate based on feeling.

Pretty good swim. Legs and arms were fresh. Went really hard in the main set doing 3:24/200m, 3:18/100m and 3:13/100m. Felt that my storke and body position were good.

Temps in the 90's with humidity and no clouds. Began running in Z2 and HR elevated to Z3 quickly. Decided to keep running in Z3/low Z4 to see how my body responded to the heat. For the most part I didn't have any issues. I had a water bottle with me and took salt tablets. Ran up some big hills and stayed at fast pace. Finished at Lions Beach and watched the triathlon training group.

Rode out and back to County X near Beloit. Temps were in the low 50's with little wind. Legs were really fatigued and I didn't have much energy. Once the sun was up and my body started to warm up I felt a little better. Stopped for a train for about 15 mins and it was hard to get going after that.

Road west to broadhead and back the the regular course south and east of janesville. Weather called for rain and thunderstorms but it only rained a little. Temps got in to the 80s and the sun came out. Very hilly course (2300 feet elevation gain) but still tried to stay in z2 or lower for the ride.

Swam lions pond. Time includes two short stops to adjust goggles. No one on the pond except a few fishermen on shore. Swam 900 yards before the first stop, about 800 yards before the second stop and finished with a 1400 continuous swim. Didn't have specific route just swam. Some lower back tightness but nothing that forced me to stop. Also got yelled at by a fisherman because I was scaring the fish around him. Good, the fish should be scared of me.

Rode west and south of janesville on the regular route. HR was higher for the first 10 miles or so. Winds were out of the southwest around 8 mph. Temps in the 80s with some cloud cover. Aero bars kept slipping down on bumps. Legs felt great and didn't have any lower back issues.
