For my last long brick, I decided to challenge myself by doing, literally, every single hill I could ride to within a 10 mile radius of my house.

Run
  • 50m 42s
  • 5.00 miles
  • 10m 08s /Mi

Kept it really easy on the run. Stayed well within my comfort zone and just tried to focus on form and breathing well.

-  Went to see Kev last night at his house.  It's truly a miracle.  He is up, walking around and he even said that if it weren't for the surgery (he had a defibulator installed in his chest) he thinks he'd be able to do the IM in 10 days.  He's still going to LP which will be awesome.

-  My shoulder is improving.  I am icing it religiously 3-4 time a day for 20 minutes at a time.  I am going to try to give swimming a shot tomorrow morning.

-  I need to bring my bike to the shop STAT.  It turns out that there is some damage to it from the accident.  I think I may have bent one of my aero bars.  I'm gonna have to have them take a look at it and repair anything that needs to be.

Ran at the hottest part of the day and it was suffocatingly hot and humid out there. This is the first time I have run in weather like this in probably a year...

I shut off the hr feedback on the garmin to run by feel and I am shocked at what my average HR was... so high. It's probably due to heat and the fact that I basically chugged a venti iced coffee before the run. I know Bobby was right and I should have done more hot runs in my training. But, I have bigger fish to fry right now. Like, my shoulder.

I am more confident today than I was yesterday that I will be ok for the IM and I know I will be more confident tomorrow. I have to religiously ice the area and stretch, which seems to be helping. Right now, there's a lot less pain, just stiffness. Going to see Kev tonight...hopefully the great oracle will be able to shed some light on this for me.
