Everything is relative. Everything.

I got the bright idea today to look to see if there was a spin class tonight, and there is so I was going to go and then swim, but then I remembered that I don't have anything to spin in, so there goes that thought. Won't happen again though. I am going to spin thursday morning I think.

Think I'll do a little much needed recovery walking around the mall. ;)

OH MAN! This run is what all runs should be!! I ran 1/10th of a mph slower than I usually do but I focused on keeping my HR low, which I seriously seriously succeeded in doing. That is very low for me. My knee feels okay too. I put the incline on 0 since 1 was bothering it, I also stopped about 5-6 times and stretched it a bit. But the great thing about this run was that other than the water/gel/stretch walking, I ran the whole time. I am so proud of myself right now. I finally feel okay about this 1/2 marathon. For all my belly-aching, I know that on Feb. 5th at 10:30am when I'm crossing that finishline, I am going to take back all the "not worth it" comments. (I'm on a running high right now) Man, this was good. Recovery swim tomorrow after work.

Today I am feeling a renewed sense of training. It is almost a spring like feeling. I'm not even nervous about 10 miles tonight. My uncle had his 3rd heart attack this past saturday night (he's 50) and this has given my young 24 year old body more resolve than ever to never allow myself to be like that.

Today I pledge to always love my heart and my body and to keep her healthy, not only for me but for my future family.

There is no way in the world I ran that fast. Today was my first time around this track that my apartment people claim is 1 mile around. I think they must be VERY wrong. Although I did run faster today that I usually do, I know that, but I did not run this fast. I'll have my friend come over with this 301 and we'll walk around it and see how far it really is. (update 1/25/06 - it is .7 miles around, I fixed the distance)

I did run well today WITH NO KNEE PAIN!! Did 3 loops.
1st - ran at a pace that I would usually think as fast.
2nd - ran at a pace a little bit faster than loop 1
3rd - ran even faster - last 1/4 of a loop I was gasping for air. It felt great.

I'd go swimming but the gym closes at 6 on saturdays :(

Okay, 3 mile run later today, I'm going to try to run outside around the track. (anxiously awaiting my new 305 to come in so I can just go run around the neighborhood.) I've just been so bored with running and I think that running outside will help me get back on track. I've got one more week of hard workouts before my 1/2 marathon, and I've got to make them count. I kinda want to swim again today, but we will see.

I also think I need to start strengthening my core, but I'm not really sure how I want to go about this. I'm not looking to get cut, I'm just looking to swim/bike/run faster.

good swim.

Who's gettin' nervous? I am! I am! Who's gettin' nervous? I am! I am! (everybody together now) Who's gettin' nervous? She is! She is!

Okay, swim tonight after work, b/c I'm following the rules "no run after your long run" and plus I just love the swim and I have to get faster so that I can keep beating my friend in the pool eventhough he is getting TI soon and he is super strong and can whip me on the bike and run.

4.24pm - Tell me again - why did I decide to do a 1/2 marathon? I hate running, of course no one ever accused me of being smart.

4.40pm - :( I want to ride my bike

Brandy Story of the Day -

Let me lay out the scene. Last night I had a short little 3 mile run, I didn't feel like getting into full running gear so I threw on a pair of pants (I NEVER wear pants), a shirt and I leave on my glasses (I usually wear my contacts when I run). I go to the gym and I'm running and as expected my glasses are jiggling around so I take them off. I run hard and I'm feeling good about my sprinting (up to 6.5 mph at the end) Sweat is dripping everywhere and I feel great. I wipe off my face and put my dark rimmed glasses back on so that I can actually see things. There is a guy in his upper 20s on the bike next to me. I finish my run and in the corner of my eye I see him taking out his earbud. He turns to me -

Him : You look way better without your glasses

Me (wearing the glasses that I love) : Well that's kinda mean (I glare mean at him)

Him : No, um, I, uh mean you, uh are pretty without them

Stupid guy. What a meanie
