Funny Story - Yesterday at the pool I'm just swimming along, in the middle of my swim and I'm in a nice little, doesn't happen too often, rhythm with my breathing. Half way through my lap, BAM, I run smack into something. My goggles get pushed up my face. I stop and stand up. It's some guy, in my lane. He says "Oops I'm sorry I didn't see you" It was crazy funny. He apologized again when I got out of the pool. I told him that it was okay, it will help with my ows tri training, and that it would be a good story in the morning. He just laughed. Crazy guy.

- My friend (who lived here pre-katrina) is coming back to NOLA for the first time since the storm this weekend. I get to give her the royal tour of the city. It'll be a tough weekend, but I plan to cap it off with a 10 miler on Sunday.  to start it off with a 10 miler Saturday morning. That way we can drown our tears of how much we miss each other on Saturday night, and I won't have to worry about running on Sunday hungover. Good Plan.

Accidently erased this data without writing it down first when I jumped in the pool.

Running skirt worked great. Think I'll just need some body glide on my inner thighs, the shorts are pretty short. I will use this during a medium run, and then during my last 10 miler to make sure the skirt will be fine for the 1/2 marathon.

Felt good. Have I mentioned how much I love the swim? Breathing is starting to come back to me.

7.53am - 3 mile run tonight, and will probably throw in some laps in the pool tonight as well. Going to try to run in my running skirt for the first time tonight to see how it does. I hope it works out. I also realized something last night, I suck at the bike. In spin class, I can't sit down and spin for too long. I could stand up all day long, but it is so hard to sit and spin. Which is consistent with my sucking on a real bike. Maybe I should just "ride lots"

Supercycle tonight - 1.5 hour spin class tonight - I don't know how well I'm going to do, but I'm pumped and excited about doing it. !!

My body feels less fatty than it did last week. Seems the new diet is working. This makes me smile, it also makes me feel the side of my waist a lot and makes the people at work think I'm weird. But such is life.

 

12.16pm - Okay I just bought the pink one - My goal is to look super super freaking holy wow hot for my first tri in April.

1.18pm - I just registered for my first tri - I also registered in the "1st Timer" division! Maybe I'll win some metal - Ha! Yeah right!!

Mentally this run was okay, but my left knee starting hurting during the run.

Swam right after my run. Okay yesterday was probably closer to 250 yards than 500. I kept losing count. I know I did at least 400 today. My breathing was much better today than the other day. Man, I love the water.

I don't know about that race on the 15th. My birthday is January 12th, and my family and I are supposed to be celebrating that weekend. So if I do it, it will probably be a last minute register the day of thing. We'll see.

4 mile run tonight.

I also decided that I am going to run my 1/2 marathon in one of those running skirts. Why? Because I'm a girly dork :)

Yes, that's right, I went swimming. Why? Because I rock. OMG, it felt SO good to get back in the pool. I really just wanted to get in the pool for a minute or two just to get the feel of it again. Lost count, but I think I did about 500 yards. I still remembered some of the TI basic too, so that's good. I was also reminded of how much I suck at breathing while swimming. But this will get better. My new goggles are awesome too, I bought a pair of Speedo Vanquishers. They rock.

Wanted to ride my bike today, but my left knee really really hurt after the late night 9 miler yesterday so I just rested. Took a nap midday though, and when I woke up it felt fine.....weird.
