Treadmill @ XSport -- Walking
Did the first 20 min @ 3.9/2.0 incline. Then raised it to 2.5 for the next 10 min.... Did the last 10 min @ 1.0 incline and 4.0 speed.
Not a terrible workout. I am sweaty. Mission accomplished, right?
10:37 AM: I wake up in the morning and I feel like I'm hungover, even though I haven't been drinking! The headache, the grogginess...it's like I've been drugged. I go to sleep at a decent hour, so I don't necessarily understand why it's so difficult for me to drag my ass out of the bed.
Final wedding plans are coming together nicely. I can't wait. We've got the villa reserved in St. John. Got the deposit sent off to the wedding planner. Got the final contract back from the reception place. Now looking for a decent DJ and a photographer for the reception and we'll be all set. Then we will shift our focus toward the reception invitations... Save the date cards should go out this weekend. Let's hope the car doesn't drain any more money off of me for a while... Rita Gaspar... clamoring for attention.
HAPPY NEW YEARRRRRR! This little guy celebrated in style!
And now for something completely random:
Gaze up on Chris Parker in MY full length Monkey Head Snuggie. You will note he's also sporting a skullcap, for good measure.

Fancy, right? What? You didn't notice? Shiny new rubbery fancy dancy tires.

Swam with Steve and Nanci Tayler. Nanci wore her fins and lead the lane. Steve went next and I brought up the rear. I probably should have gone out ahead of Steve because I kept catching him at the end of every 100.
4 x 200 s/k/p/d
6 x 25 kick on side half way, swim halfway.
6 x 100 on 1:50. Made each of these easy. No problems.
6 x 25 underwater recovery + Tarzan
6 x 100 on 1:45. Made each of these easy as well, no issues.
6 x 25 something... don't recall what?
6 x 100 on 1:40 Made every interval, but I like more rest. Got about 10 sec rest... maybe a little less toward the end. ;)
6 x 25 breathe every 3 strokes.

Not running, but walking. I want credit for my miles so I'm going to be posting my walking here. 30 min on the treadmill with incline @ 2.0.

Lisa's Monday Night Spin
Sat next to Peter. Chatted, did some sweating, chatted some more. Better than nothing, but not as good as the XSport whacked out spin class on Thursday nights. Crazy.
Lifted. Biceps/triceps/upright rows/lat pulldowns/chest presses/quad extensions/hamstring curls/side steps with band/front & back steps with band.
8:57 AM: Allllllllrighty.... the crock pot is going! Did all of my chopping, peeling, slicing, etc etc and got tonight's dinner underway by 8:30 AM. Go me. It will cook on low for a long time and we will eat it when I get back from Lisa's 6:15 spin class tonight. It better be good, cuz I'm going to be hungry! Other than that... not much on the agenda for today... maybe watch some movies, vacuum the downstairs, and do some paperwork type stuff with the contracts for the wedding. Backed up the computer last night. (That's always a relief... especially given the great iPhoto debacle of 2010.)
So, not much to see here, kids. Have a fantastic day! Don't do anything I wouldn't do...
Oh, but before you go... please enjoy this photo of Molly, erasing Chris' hard drive....
Now, to be honest, I don't believe she actually erased his hard drive... but she did manage to delete his background screen saver photo and cause the computer to make some interesting noises... Molly is a heat whore, so that keyboard must have been hot hot hot!
8:54 PM: Well, as you can see, I made it to the gym! Ate the crock pot goodness. It was... OK. Not the best crockpot recipe I've ever tried, but not the worst by far. I was hoping for a "9-10" recipe and this was about a "6.5-7"... in other words... a little bit better than your average crock pot recipe. Don't get me wrong, we both devoured it, and we both enjoyed it very much.... but I was hoping for something akin to our Porterhouse experience of last month... Let me know if you want to try this one... it was Sherried Chicken with walnuts and golden raisins...
January 1
1:41 PM: Didn't get up early. Slept til almost 10! Then got up and went to the store to pickup some ingredients for a crock pot recipe that I'm going to try tomorrow. If it's any good, I'll post it here so you guys can try it too.
Not a whole lot on the agenda today. Might try to do a trainer workout. Might not. Will finish organizing and preparing myself for 2012. Lots going on this year... including a move, a wedding, a wedding reception... Not to mention the OTHER fun stuff we have planned that is not of our own making, like the wedding of our pals Jana and Jay in March.
Lots to do. Lots of fun stuff ahead. Not a whole lot on the race schedule for me, though... yet.
Meanwhile... photos from last night.
Me and IP's lovely wife, Willa.
Me and Chris... we set up the couch to take everyone's photo... my camera only focused on about half of the pictures. User error! I need to figure this out, and fast!
The clock struck 12! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Me and Lisa and Vik and Beth... chatting.
Here's everyone... except Ed and Steve and Kathy... we forgot to take a group shot until after half the group had already gone.
And me and Peter.
HAPPY NEW YEAR! 2011 was great. I am looking forward with anticipation toward 2012 and beyond!

December 31
Yeah... I didn't do anything that remotely resembled "working out" today... however I did clean out all of the drawers in the master bathroom, throwing away or recycling a bunch of stuff I don't need/use/want/or was expired whatever. Don't want to start 2012 with 2011's leftover trash! Then I vacuumed and put all of the laundry away (this was a major task). By the time we left for Lisa & Craig's party, I was reasonably happy with the progress I'd made on the second floor. I love to get rid of stuff. I love the space the stuff leaves behind. I can't explain it other than that.
We packed up our bikes with the intention of getting up early (at like 6) and driving down to the SCTC NYDay Spinny. Both bikes and trainers are in Chris' car as we speak.
Slept like the dead for 10 hours last night. I so *SO* wish that the 3rd event in a triathlon was SLEEP. Swim/Bike/Sleep. I'd totally win. I know I say this a lot, but seriously, NOBODY sleeps like I do. NOBODY. Out. Dead. Kaput.

Processing your request, please wait...
No idea how long this actually was....
200 pull
200 kick
200 drill
Then we did 7:30 of "Indian Running" This is where the person in the back of the lane has to swim past the other people in the lane and get to the wall first, then lead the lane to the other end... while the person from behind does the same thing. Since there were 3 of us in the lane, we had to surge every 75. Harder than it sounds.
Then we did this:
50 easy
6 x 75 on 1:30 (could have used a tighter interval... we had lots of rest here)
50 easy
4 x 50 on 1:00 (same as above)
50 easy
Then we did a bunch of 25's... Like maybe 10 25's in all different configurations... like dolphin dives/sprints/fly/breast/more dolphin dives/breathing drills... etc etc.
50 cool down.

No idea. Will use calculator.
This was a group activity workout today. I'm sure I'm missing something.
Treadmill walking w/Trudy
Set out to go 2 miles after swimming. Incline = 2.5 and speed varied between 3.8 and 4.0.
10:00 AM: WoooooHoooo! Swim + walk done and in the books. Strange swim today. All group activity. But whatever. At least I got up and did it. Chris was going to come with me, but his throat/sinuses/nose/whatever was bothering him and draining and doing whatever it does. So he stayed home, and said he'd swim at lunchtime. I knew damn well I wasn't going to swim at lunchtime, so I ushered myself to the pool and swam this morning. Dress. Dress. Dress. Must fit into dress.
PHOTO FLIPPER:
Me and my girl Stacie... coming down off the 14'ers we climbed in fall of 2010. We have matching hair and ponytails.
