CX race on Saturday in Wauconda (near my old stomping grounds) and CX race today in Carpentersville (also right near my old stomping grounds!)

Got to hang out with Trudy a lot this weekend and watch her race. I was supposed to be racing with her, but obviously being pregnant throws a wrench in that whole plan. Haha.

Up early on Saturday to get my hair cut and colored and styled. Yep. I let the girl blow it out. She saw it as a challenge... she did a good job... and it only took 45 minutes and a giant glob of hair product to get it accomplished.

Saturday morning's hair.

Me and Trudy @ Wauconda Psycho-Cross. I'm wearing Chris' wedding ring on my first finger.

Chris performing a dismount!

Last night we cooked dinner for my friend Chrissy, who has been out in Tacoma WA for the past 6 weeks or so. She is doing a training stint out there and she's eating every single meal out. She desperately wanted something cooked in a kitchen. (Not a restaurant kitchen!) So, we made dinner.

I was responsible for the vegetables. Luckily we had a vegetable cook book. (This is the Chris influence. I would never have purchased a vegetable cook book... but I am damn glad he did! Otherwise we would have been eating canned corn.)

Me (in what appears to be a tent, but was super cute in person...) and Agnes in the kitchen, and Chrissy and Kristin in their sort-of-matching sweaters.

And there's the famed vegetable cook book. I made sauteed asparagus in a garlic/shallot butter. It was delicious. Thankyouverymuch

Walked in the door last night, hung out with Chris for about 20 minutes, felt sick, skipped dinner, and was in bed by 8:35 PM. Slept til 6:40 this morning. That's 10 hours and 5 minutes, bitches.

If laying in bed for really long periods of time didn't make my back ache, (and if I didn't have to work!)  I would have gotten up, had a bowl of Rice Krispies, and gone straight back to bed. But alas, I have a job and whatnot. So here I am.

Why don't we liven things up with a Photo Flipper Picture?

That would be me, double jointed and in the middle at about 4 years old, basking in the glory of the stage.

More of the same.

Carry on.

Who would like to take a peek inside my uterus today!? Wanna know what's going on!? Check out this link:

WEEK 9! We've got a grape!

Obviously this is not a peek inside MY actual uterus; the lumpy bumpy fibroid riddled organ that it is. This is a peek inside a general uterus, the collective/average uterus, if you will.

Next week we will have another ultrasound and if it shows something that's moderately recognizable, I will scan it and post it here. So far we've had 3 ultrasounds and they've all looked like a tiny unidentifiable blob in a black hole. It's cool to see the heart beating on the machine, but that doesn't translate into anything once the image is printed out. Exciting for us to study, as the prospective parents, maybe (not really) but definitely not exciting for you, my dear reader.

This blog has devolved into photos of me (unshowered and in disarray) with cats on my lap, to do lists, and nausea complaints. I'm sorry. I'm thinking this will be how it goes for the next 6-7 months or so. Please bear with me....

Although, I'm hoping that I hit the end of the first trimester, and when I do, I am infused with happiness and energy, like all of the damn books and websites say I will be. Right now, I'm exhausted, crabby, nauseated, and sluggish.

Quentin is trying to hatch the baby:

8:45 AM: So today, 10/15 was the day I was supposed to go downtown to Northwestern University and have my consultation with the robotic surgery fibroid specialist. I kept the appointment til the very last minute, and canceled yesterday. There's nothing he can do if I'm pregnant. He needs to take an MRI to determine the exact location of the fibroids, etc...and that's just not possible now that I've got a passenger. He doesn't do anything with babies on board.

So, I have today to catch up on life. Do all of the things I don't have time to do when I'm sleeping til the last possible minute in the morning, working all day, driving home, and falling asleep on the couch at 8 PM.

Today I will:

  • Do laundry. Fold what's out, wash what's in the basket.
  • Unload & re-load dishwasher
  • Go to Wal-Mart or Target
    • Eye makeup remover
    • Honeycrisp apples
    • Yogurts
    • Soup
    • Mailer envelopes
    • 9 volt batteries
    • Sympathy cards (2)
    • Soy milk
    • Kleenex
    • Rice Krispies
    • A bunch of other misc stuff that looked good at the time.
  • Go to Post Office -- return 2 tops: I'm now a LARGE, not a MEDIUM, even in blousy tops. (BOOOOOBS!)
  • Nap? (Why am I still awake? I should be napping)
  • Go to body shop for my car, set up appointment
  • Make a dip for Boss' Day tomorrow.

Saturday: CATURDAY!

Couch + Kona + Cats.

Sunday:

Kristin qualified for BOSTON!

Today at lunchtime, I went to return a dress I bought @ Old Navy because the seam unraveled upon my first wearing of the item. (Cheap-o! I don't know why I bother. Why do I bother buying crap at Old Navy!?)

I parked my car, and noticed somebody had parked a BMW across 2 parking spots, like right in the middle, taking up both the spots and making their own car sort of crooked across the two. An ass-wipe move when parking is limited.

I tried to squeeze myself into the second half of the second parking spot, but I couldn't fit without making myself a partner in crime, and screwing up parking for another couple of spots.

So I parked in a normal spot, a couple spots down, and prepared a note to stick on this person's windshield. It read:

YOU'RE A DOUCHE-BAG.

SOCIAL FEEDBACK.

HAVE A NICE DAY.

I got out of my car and debated the pros and cons of putting this note on this person's windshield. I didn't do it. I figured doing that made me a douche-bag too! And I need only good karma these days. Now. Forever. So I crumpled up the note and stuck it into my pocket.

When I got back out of the store, the d-bag was gone and order had been restored to the parking lot. Without my intervention. I will let the universe take care of the rest.

In unrelated news, I hit and killed a squirrel on my way into work today. That was terrible.
