OK, I admit it, I'm taking it easy. I've earned it, right?

I forgot my goggles. My eyes could only take so much.

OK, enough of this recovering. Time to do something. Pool?

So I've just completed my 7th triathlon in 3 years. I've lost a significant amount of weight, and trained like never before this year. How have I improved? Swim: The last two have been among my fastest, although my best performance was in 2004! In some races this 2 min/100 yds pace is great, but in the oly I just did, it's below average! I don't know what it would take to improve my swimming. Time for a master's class? Bike: In the last tri, I turned in my highest pace (16.9 mph), while the one I did yesterday, the bike was my strongest performance (but still average). Sustaining 16.1 mph on those hills impresses me. :) Run: My very first tri in 2003, my run pace was 14:16. I did some walking. This year, I turned in a 10:20 pace on a sprint! (Although I think the course was short.) And yesterday I sustained an 11:42 pace in the olympic. My pace on a 10k with no swimming or biking first was 11:20. I think that counts as some major improvement. Although I was miffed that my pace in June was over 12 min/mile. I'm not sure who's course to believe. In any case, I've made some major progress. However, I'm not sure what it would take to improve more. Transitions: My T1's used to be over 5 minutes. Now they're down to 2.5 minutes. T2's I've managed to get under 2 minutes a few times. If I really wanted to, I'm sure I could improve these a bit more... if I were concerned about shaving thirty more seconds off my overall times.

Total unofficial time: 3:22:05! I placed 5th in Athenas. See race report! Additional note: If you double my time for the sprint back in May on the same course, you get 3:26:38. So I beat that by over 4 min. Cool.
