Masters swim. 250 WU, 200 kick with fins, 8x50 alternating fingertip drag and swimming. Main set. 300 on 6:30, 1x100 on 2:30, 300 with buoy on 6:30, 2x100 on 2:30, 300 on 6:30, 3x100 on 2:20, 200 with buoy on 6:30, 4x50 on 1:10. 50 easy swim cool down.

Nice long run after in cold rain. Was able to hold 9:10 pace in zone 2. Definitely felt it for the rest of the day.

What a day.  Good hard swim this morning with the masters group.  As the coach said during practice, we were "swimming like bike boys this morning."  Despite the hard workout, I felt quite good coming out of the pool and was able to get my long run in three hours later.  The run was quite good.  I was able to hold my desired pace and stay in zone 2 for the entire 14 miles.  It was a cold and rainy day too.  I am amazed at how improved my aerobic capacty has gotten from all the swimming I've been doing lately.  That's where the fun ended though.  I spent the rest of the day succombing to a cold.   Chills, fever and a stuffy nose.  Hopefully a good night sleep will make all the difference.

Hour on the trainer. First ride with my new aerobars. Felt great. 20 wu, five iterations of 3 hard, 1 easy; 20 WD.

First ride today on my new aerobars. Felt very good on the trainer down in aero. I was expecting to be more uncomfortable on my first ride. Now all I need to do is be able to control the bike while riding on the road and I should be all set.

Masters swim. 300 WU. Lots of kick switch kick drills. Ten, six , and three.

Great swim workout again this morning. Drills kill me! They make me so uncomfortable, but I guess that's why we do them. It's better to be an ugly driller and a pretty swimmer than the other way around. Now all I have to do is become a pretty swimmer.
