my strength work out today consisted of hauling buckets of water out to the backyard to build an ice rink. we are in stage one right now and waiting for the first layer of water to freeze before we add more.

first day of period. grumble. skipped strength training and went out and bought ice skates instead. run planned for today, in the snow.

tonight was the final, final end of our 2005 season. i had my last race of the year a couple weeks ago, but bill still had one more cyclocross race.
in celebration of our own great year of racing, we made a wonderful meal of roast chicken with garlic and herbs, mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts (i LOVE them), bread, and some vino...followed by an awesome apple crisp. yum.
tomorrow i officially start my 2006 training season. it starts off easy - a 20 minute run! i had to figure out a route since i haven't done a run under 3 miles in a while. i'm over the sinus infection now, with just 4 more days of antibiotics left. it will be nice to be running again. while i've enjoyed a bit of rest, i definately feel healthier and happier when i'm training. its not so much the schedule or the intensity as the consistancy.
so, i guess tonight is like new years eve for my tri season! good-bye 2005! hello 2006!!! :)

second to last day of official laziness. start my 2006 training season on monday. hard to believe it almost here already! i've enjoyed several weeks of being a slug (not that i had much choice with the cold and sinus infection), but i'm ready to get back into training.
