woo hoo! hurray for today! come on in and join me for my big pity party! ;) was feeling better by yesterday afternoon. almost went for a run, but instead e and i took the dog for a walk in the rain, saw a rainbow, splashed in puddles. it was wonderful. ended up staying up too late (considering how short on sleep i've been) to watch 'the exorcism of emily rose'. woke up at 3am w/ my period - arriving in the middle of the night, AGAIN, and also a day early (early instead of late, that's a change). won't go into details, but i didn't get back to bed until 4am, and then fi was up at 5:30. total, i got about 5-6 hours of interupted sleep and then i woke up with a raging migraine. hurrah for me! this is only the 3rd time in my life that i've had one, and the other two times were due to chronic sleep deprivation (once in college road tripping home from oregon with friends, and once again when ella was a baby). tylenol and coffee have helped, so now i'm just in minor pain. oh, and allergies. am i having fun yet? thank god my cramps aren't bad too. bill looked at me this morning and said 'you look awful. i'm staying home.' god bless him. okay, pity party over. i'm going to go curl up in bed with some coffe and 'her sports' and dream that i'm outside running.

fi is feeling better, and i'm slowly feeling better too - just very very worn out from almost a week of not enough sleep. i'm glad that fi is finally night weaned and is down to nursing just twice a day, but it also means that i have one less way to soothe her back to sleep at night. i've dug in my heals this time and won't nurse her, for fear it will get her back into her habit of nursing all night. so far its working without a huge fight, but it also means i'm up with her for longer periods of time rubbing her back and what not to get her back to sleep...and then its harder for me to get back to sleep. the girls and i have been coughing and the congestion went right into my right ear (the one that was infected last year). not infected now, it just has a lot of pressure, so no swimming. i've been waking up w/ a headache too (may be more related to lack of sleep than the ear stuff). it was so beautiful out yesterday. i really wanted to go for a run, but just vacuuming the stairs wore me out, so running 10k wasn't a good idea. april may be the most pathetic workout month for me this year, just when i should be increasing my volume!! thunderstorms are expected today, so i may just take yet another rest day, drink lots of water, and get out for a run w/ fiona tomorrow morning. we are planning to do a long family ride this weekend, now that ella is the queen of the trail-a-bike.

fi was up much of the night with a cough. probably the same thing i as fighting off last week. poor kid. so, we're having a quiet day at home today.

happy easter! hiking out from our camp site. saw a bunch of wild turkeys. from the time we came in to when we left this morning, a mist of green spread through the whole forest. bare trees were covered in budding green leaves overnight. it was amazing.
