Have gotten three months of rain in the past 2 days. Ick. Should actually be out in it training for next years USMC MudRun - there's a 5K on edown in Roanoke in mid-Sept - that would be such a kickass way to finish off the season. :) My brother said I probably wasn't tall enough to get over the obstacles... I pointed out that's why they have all those Marines there - they can throw me over them if needed.

Overslept so it was out the door like a rocket, then straight from work for movies and fun with little bro for his birthday. :)

Had an epiphany on the knee last night as to why it feels so weird after running. I don't walk the same way I run... Once you get past the "well duh" moment of that statement, it makes more sense in the analysis. I run with my left foot straight out, my muscles around my knee *like* this, they're happy, they're all in the right place, feels great. When I walk, my left foot tends to turn out to the side, and then those muscles start up with a WTF? So, part of training is now retraining myself to walk properly...

Woohoo abs challenge!

OH - and there was tons of splashing about on either side of me - and of all the things I could think of, I thought "Hey, this is really good!!" I have reconquered the water!!!! Bad, bad pace, but my own doing - I feel guilty going to the gym for such short sets, so I hit the life cycles for a wee bit first...hey - that counts as a brick, doesn't it?? But damn, a nice workout. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rec'd email from gym re: the run - since it is untimed, headphones are allowed! Granted yes, I should probably do it w/out, train like you race and all, but it would be nice to have some tunes. ~~~~~~~~~~~ OK, 68 days til my 5K. It's an untimed fun run, which just means I'll get to put my Timex to good use, cause I *will* know my time at the end of it. :) Last 5K I did was in 7th grade, I finished in around 30 minutes, and I seem to recall having about the same amount of training time as I've got now. Of course this was over 20 years ago and I was also a competitive gymnast at the time... This is gonna be good, though. And I just figured out a 5K route through my neighborhood. :-D
