Men fear me, women want me... No, wait...

Good morning. Not heading out til this afternoon, just impressed with myself that I got up early enough to actually sit down and have my morning coffee and relax before dashing out the door.
Not dead, just on a little road trip, back tomorrow afternoon.
September 7
Basically just a quick dip to remind myself that I DO know how to swim. :)
#612 for Reston!! And I will be the last out of the water - I'm in the last swim wave going out. Upside, no one will be hitting my feet. :) And it should be very easy to find my bike.
For whatever reason, I woke up ridiculously early this morning, which is actually a good thing given that I've got a ton of little things to get done today, and the extra "sit around and wake up" time is good. Reston for packet pickup (thank you RD for letting me snag it early), "road trip errands" for a little jaunt tomorrow/Saturday, try and smash a swim in there, laundry & housework, get everything together for Reston so it's just all ready to go when I get home Saturday, and probably a couple other things I'm not thinking of just yet.
OK, Dunkin Donuts is running ads for some bagel sandwich thing. Who actually goes to DD for anything besides donuts & coffee?! Really now.
This is freaking cool as hell - She's swimming the English Channel today - oh, and she has type 1 diabetes.
In the spirit of "review the course before the race" my gentleman friend and & I met up for late drinks this evening (due to race/work/travel schedules, an actual dinner is not possible until after Reston) -
we ended up sitting in the parking lot for an hour and a half talking after they tossed us out of the pub. The "getting to know you" stage is so much fun.

I WILL make stretching a daily habit if it kills me.
OK, was watching Grey's Anatomy the other night and the scene of Dr. Yang showing her disaster of an apartment made me laugh my ass off, cause it's SO me, and I had to go find the exact phrasing of the scene:
This is where I live. My mother decorated it. I don't do laundry, I buy new underwear. The table? Six months of magazines I know I'll never read but I won't throw out. I don't wash dishes, vacuum, or put the toilet paper on the holder. I hired a maid once. She ran away crying. The only things in my fridge are water, vodka, and diet soda, and I don't care.
Shocker that I'm single, isn't it?
Goooooooooood morning. Ever have one of those mornings where you just can't shake off the cobwebs? Yep, that's me so far this morning. Definitely need more coffee.

Trainer. Knew I had to do *something* today, and mentally, I'm just not up for much else. ;)
No, not dead, just VERY lazy today. Trying to make a point of logging stetching, not cause it's really a workout per se, but if I have to put it in, I'm more likely to do it, and it's something I should be doing every swingin' day.
The best index to a person's character is: (a) how he treats people who can't do him any good, and (b) how he treats people who can't fight back. - Abigail van Buren

Trainer
Thinking about what's on tap this week - going to be a nice, easy week from a training standpoint. One long run, some swims, maybe another ride. Bigger project this week is to get this house cleaned up - the place looks like 4 male college sophomores live here. Which would be fine if I was a 20 year old male with three roommates, but I'm not.
Ahh, better living through chemistry - benadryl + more sleep = I can hear again! Heard the swim was pretty gross, not feeling guilty for passing on that.
Bagged the swim - woke up with some ear/nose/throat stuff going on, am self medicating and going back to bed.

Wetsuit legal taper run...
I have to say, I'm pretty pleased with how quickly I can get my transition bag together these days, as opposed to it taking what seemed like *hours* before Virginia Run. :)
So, the MudRun ended up getting scheduled for the 9th instead of the 16th like they originally thought. Spent a TON of time debating if I should do it or not, and decided to do it, for a couple reasons:
1. I certainly wouldn't be "racing" it.
2. I convinced my little brother to do it with me, and who knows when THAT will happen again.
3. I really, really wanted to do it.
SO MUCH FUN!! Race report to come eventually, gotta go get everything set for tomorrow.
Goals for tomorrow:
-- Don't die
-- Have fun
-- Finish in <4 hours
-- Out of water by 8:15
-- Off bike by 10:00 (9:45 would kick ass)
-- Finish run by 11:18
-- Keep total transition time <10 minutes
Not dead, just on a little road trip, back this afternoon sometime.
