I got home at 6:45 and didn't feel it would be okay to do anything other than workout. So out the door I went. Now that Moo is over I feel liberated to push the pace on the short stuff. Need to learn how to do speed work the right way in the next month or two.

Yo.  Group ride yesterday was a blast in spite of one guy getting three flats.  Cruising at 25-26 in a pack is a rush, definately want to do more of that next year and to the extent possible, this fall.  I'm officially registered for the Indiana Hilly Hundred and looking forward to it in a couple weeks.

Picked up the new Chevelle album over lunch today.  As expected if freakin' rocks!

Today will probably be a rest day unless I feel inspired to run when I get home after 7:30 tonight.

Group ride. One of the guys had THREE flats! Yeah, there was a pin in there that he didn't discover when changing the first two... Nonetheless, fun riding with a group, and hanging out at an LBS for a while too. Got back in the total darkness. Glad MUTRI joined us!

Riding tonight from Crank Daddy's.  Wheels out at 6 sharp!

6x200 cruise with 20s rest. Didn't feel fast, but good to be back in the water.

Back to the grind!  After a fun and productive weekend it's back to the desk.  The garage is now organized and clean, a project I had been putting off until after moo.  There is finally room between the cars 'cuz there isn't crap on the floor everywhere.  Stuff I inherited from the previous owner is in the trash, the tools have a place, the used motor oil went to the recycler, and the 16' ladder has a place to hang on the wall.  Glad to have the first of a bunch of post Moo projects done.

Looks like I'm going to Indiana in three weeks for the Indiana Hilly Hundred.  100 miles over Sat and Sun, and I'm told the hard part is being sober enough to ride.  Fun group going so I'm looking forward to it.  I think I'll dry out a bit from the drunk fest that was this weekend in prep for the upcoming weekend.

PUB CRAWL ON BIKES!!!!!

(It started yesterday but ended early this morning, so it gets logged today!)

Ran with Lori. First run since Moo!!! Felt pretty good, just cruised. Check out that avg HR of 148!!! Pretty low for me. Spent a couple minutes on the beach looking at Lake Michigan. Beautiful night with a bright moon made it easy to see lots.

Holy crap that was fun.  Started at Crank Daddy's bike shop at 2 p.m. yesterday.  From there the first stop was Barnacle Buds in Bayview.  Very cool bar at a dry storage marina on the river.  I had never been there before but i will definately go back!  Second bar was De Marini's, again never been there, but fun place to sit on the deck and have a beer, some pasta, and yummy garlic bread.  Third stop was Sobelman's, home of Milwaukee's Best Burgers.  Of course I had a Sobelman burger because they really are the best.  Final stop was Simply Al's, a total dive bar I had never heard of an will probably never go back to, though it was a blast.  Then up to the Nomad on Brady, and stayed there until almost 1 a.m.  Ohmygosh, I drank a lot of Captain and Cokes!!!  I can't believe I made it this long seeing as I was running on four hours of sleep.  I guess that's the Ironman experience being applied to real life.

And NO TriDDS, I did not wear my HRM.

Going to do a short run later today and do work around the house.

Morning ride with Donkeys Jsweat, TriDDS, TriingforSeptember, SGoehner, and Runaway.
Question: How many Donkeys does it take to change a flat tire?

Answer: One to pee in someone's yard, one to pee in the corn field, one to hold the bike, and three to change the tube. And it still didn't work. Anyway...

The cult house in Waukesha County has a donkey in its corral.

Beautiful morning. Cool but sunny start and warmed to perfect temps by the time we were done. Would have gone a bit farther but the whole flat debacle slowed us down for a bit. Fun ride!

IHOP rulz post ride.

Last night was the first time I've gone out boozing in months.  Too much fun!  Dinner at Bacchus for a b-day get together was awesome.  We had a private room and a dedicated server for the night.  Very cool experience.  Then out for drinks which included a couple shots and getting home at 1:30.  That 6 a.m. alarm came early!!!  Totally worth it to hang out with the gang and talk about Moo and plans for the future.

Time to shower, get the old skool bike ready for the pub crawl ride, power nap for 20 minutes, and head to the pub crawl.

So.  It's Friday.  I'm glad.  Post moo depression is in full effect.  Legs seem to be back based on last nights bike ride.  I discovered that diet Pepsi vanilla is pretty good as far as diet soda goes.  I'm sleepy in spite of 7.5 hrs of sleep last night.  It was really foggy last night.  The garbage under my desk is overfull but I refuse to take it out until I leave for the day today.  Dinner for one of Lori's chick friends b-day tonight.  Ride with the donkeys tomorrow a.m. followed by pub crawl on bikes in the afternoon.  Going to rock my purple and pink Trek road bike for that one, ya know, the bike I bought off of Craig's List three years ago when I thought I might be interested in tris.  It's ugly so it's perfect for the pub crawl action.  Sunday probably going up to OshKosh to cheer on Lori's bro and his SIL in a half mary.  It's the SIL's first half and she is nervous!  Going to try to organize the garage this weekend, been putting that off all summer.  I may jump on the bike after work for an easy spin before dinner.  I'm listening to Sevendust right now.

Cruisin' on the road bike.

Hi.  Busy at work today.  Met with a young go getter realtor this morning, I think he may actually be one of the good ones, and I look forward to helping him out.  A couple more meetings today including getting another loan into underwriting, which is good, seeing as the market is slower than I would like.  The bond market is tanking right now though so I'm expecting rates to get repriced for the worse early this afternoon.

It's nice that now Moo is over I actually have energy for work.  That said, this multisport stuff has made its way into my bloodstream, and it doesn't feel like it is going away any time soon.  Since grad school I have changed hobbies every two years or so.  Mountain biking, car racing, motorcycles, wakeboarding, and now tri.  Tri has lasted longer than any of the previous ones and I'm gung ho for more next season.  I really would love to cash in that golden ticket I have for Moo next year but Lori has made clear that would not be good for our relationship.  She rocks and we'll still do a bunch of races next year, most of them together, so I'm okay with that.

TONIGHT:  Biking from Crank Daddy's just before 6 p.m.  Hope to get 25 miles or so in.  Hit me up if you would like to join in!

REMINDER: Saturday is Crank & Crawl, a pub crawl on bikes, starting at 2 p.m. and going to ???  Let me know if you would like to grab a your not-super-expensive around town bike join in on the booze ride!
