True rest day today...after trying to wimp out and take one yesterday :-)

Won't be posting much this week.  Son#2 and I leave for youth camp Monday.  Don't think they have internet access.  It will be a great camp with a "wilderness" theme.  We'll be caving, canoeing, rock-climbing, sleeping in tents, hiking, etc.  It's on the northern edge of the Ozark's and should be beautiful country.  I'm giving a Bible message each night and my son will be a "camper".  Should be a great time together.

Plan on....

Mon - Bike (45 min)
Tue - Run (4 miles)
Wed - Bike (90min)
Thur - Run (6 miles)
Fri - Bike (45min)
Also hope to get a few swims in, but it will depend on the schedule at camp.
OH Yea...can't forget the crunches each day...90 minimum.

OK...got my run in afterall. Planned on 10 but my right hip started getting really tight after 5. Hoped it would work itself out, but just kept getting worse. Decided with the race two weeks away I better not risk an injury. After a little cooldown and 15 minutes of stretching it felt better :-)

Decided to take a rest day today....will try to get the long run in tomorrow.  I just have a ton of work to get done for Sunday and next week.  Going to reward myself for working hard today, by going for a good run tomorrow.  BUT...have to really focus the rest of the day (so why did I just spend 20 minutes on BT....sigh, I'm addicted).

Guess I just needed a light day today.  Been hitting it pretty hard this week.  Plan on a 10-mile run in the morning.  Probably my last "long" run before the tri.

Whoo Hooo...met a goal this morning. Wanted to do a set of mile repeats with each being under 8:00...

w/u - 3/4 mile with stretching
Repeats..
1- 7:53
2- 7:56
3- 7:58
4- 7:59
c/d - jogged 1/2 mile and stretched

Time includes 3min recovery between each repeat.

Had to run the last quarter in 1:50 to keep it under 8:00...whew...that was a good workout :-)


Like a dummy....got sunburned yesterday while swimming outside.  Used to swimming at the "Y" or early in the morning.  Forgot that while swimming at "noon" outside I might need some sunscreen or a shirt.  Duh...

I have NO energy today....trying to figure that one out.  Really dragging.

Lot of work to do the next 3 days...getting ready to speak at a youth camp next week.  Won't be able to swim while I'm there, but will be able to get some good runs and bikes in.  It's a wilderness camp, so we'll be sleeping in tents all week, hiking, canoeing, rock climbing, caving.  Should be a great time.  I'll be speaking in an outdoor chapel once-a-day.  Looking forward to it.  Pray for me if you think about it :-)
