Rode the run couse. I got lost, hence the extra distance.

Swim at the race site. I think they had the sprint course setup. I felt real good, but I do have a little pain in the shoulder

Big race tomorrow. If anyone is looking for me, I'll be in a Team In Training tri-top with black (non TNT) shorts and my bib number is 323.

Good swim. My plan going in was to swim 750, but I completely lost count and felt great. I got the distance from my laps on my watch.

Also, I work my tri shorts instead of the normal board shorts. I was in the 1:50 - 1:53 range on my 100's not counting the WU/CD. I guess there really is improvement with spandex.

My shoulder had a few pops, but never showed any real pain. I'll have to keep an eye on my form (high elbows, bent arm) for my pull. At least it helped get rid of the popping.

I really need to join the masters swim over this winter.

Uggh, planned on a short swim/bike at lunch, but it's 1pm and I think I'll be able to eat now, but a lunch workout is out of the question. I'm holding off hope that I'll be able to leave a little early and get a swim in on my way home. 3:45PM I just finished eating lunch. Today sucks. Does binge drinking 2 nights before your big race count as carbo loading? I think I'm going to find out. I'm going swim for a little while to see how my shoulder does.

Easy lunch run with some short strides thrown in the middle. HR was real good before the strides, but pretty much stayed in Z3 after. I'm pretty sure I ran them too hard.

Feeling pretty good today. Going to try a run & swim at lunch. Didn't make the swim due to work/time issues.

Easy spin on the rollers. It's been about 6 months since I've ridden them and then I had pedals with cages. I fell off within the first 5 minutes. I'm fine and I didn't dent my frame, but I think I've decided that I need to keep the Schwinn for the rollers and put the caged pedals on. If not, I know I'll be tempted to ride aero on the rollers and that'd just asking for a disaster to happen.

It was nice to get those legs moving again.

Still have traces of my headache. It's mostly in the eyeballs and the only medicine that seemed to help is OTC migrane medicine. I find this weird as all it is is Asperin, Tylenol, and caffine. I've had all of those previously, but not all at once. On a positive note, my shoulder feels really good. I'm not sure if it's actually better or if it's all of the drugs I've been taking trying to rid myself of this headache. I'll probably go for a short swim to test out the shoulders and to setup my new goggles. My old ones are 6 months old and fog up rather quickly. Hopefully, I'll get on the rollers tonight. My head is feeling much better, but there is still some traces of pain, so I kept the ride real short.

Woke up with the head still throbing. Took some Advil and slept another 2hours (until 9 am) and it's mostly better. I'm pretty sure it was caused by eye strain. I need to get a new pair of glasses. Supposed to spin on the rollers tonight. We'll see how I feel.

Short, easy run. Pretty much sucked. I barely made it out the door due to massive headache and rain moving in. The rain never made it and the headache never left.

Legs were quite stiff most of the run and both of my feet fell asleep after about 2 1/2 miles.

I'm glad that is over.

OK, I'm coming out of denial with my shoulder injury. Here is the history: About 1 month before my first ever race, I hurt my left shoulder after a PR long swim. I took a week off and when it didn't get completely better, I just faught through it. Then, I signed up for a second race 1 month later. Some days it hurt bad and some days it felt like it was getting stronger. After this race, I didn't swim from October until March thinking it *had* to get better. Well, I still had some minor pain during certain motions, so I went to the doctor. That day, I didn't really have any pain and the Dr. told me that it was probably my rotator cuff and that I should start swimming again and go back if it gets worse. So I did and while I still couldn't hang from the monkey bars with my left arm, it did get much better. Fast forward to last weekend. I helped for a few hours to build a deck. Mainly, I dug a few holes for a fence post with a post hole digger and some other misc stuff. It is really alot of work to dig a hole in TX ground after a summer of drought. Needless to say, I was sore, moreso in the left shoulder. I wrote it off as muscle soreness as it wasn't where I had the pain the previous year and I didn't have any accute pain. I swam on Tue & Thu more or less pain free, but during the day on Friday, I had a continuously growing pain in my left shoulder. This time the pain is when I raise my arm forward (as opposed to the side which made it hurt last time). I have quit using turn signals when driving as that is the position that gives the most pain. Also, there is all kinds of grinding and crunching when I slowly windmill with my left arm. So, I'm probably not going to swim at all until TX Man and who know what I'll do after that, but it is probably my last Tri of the year (no Stonebridge for sure and I may end the season with the RunBi part of the RunBiTri in Kellar).
