Nice loop from downtown Columbia through Forest Acres ending back downtown.

I started back in the slower pace groups so I could be passing people all the way.. Great mental boost... Beautiful day for a half marathon run.
I was feeling prepared for this distance through the enitre race.. Life is good!!
I will maybe be ready for the full marathon next year as part of my Ironman Louisville training.

Talked to a guy from Germany before the start. This was his 106th marathon.

March 9

I am all set, pyched and ready to run tomorrow.  Picked up my race packet today #2620.  Race starts at 7:15am,,my alarm clock is set for 5:30am....13.1 miles hear I come..

I don't think I have raced a 13.1 stand alone half marathon since the late 80's...Great Expo that have down there at the Convention Center.  Dick Beardsley is the speaker tonight,,wish I didnt have to work tonight,,,anyway,,i will be sleeping by 12:30am and up at 5:30am, get woke up with coffee and bagel,,got my stuff laid out,,it's gonna be a great time!!!!!!!!

HR still high,,gotta re-set it I think.

Just a trial today with separating my warmup , steady run and cool down.   Very motivating when I started out and felt "ready" after a mile.  when I reset the GPS/clock after the warmup mile, I was more focused on trying to push the pace.  I think I can leave out the cool down , takes too long to log it all in.

Feel's like I'm startin over after a real light week last week. Will see how I feel early Saturday morning "if I wake up in time" to run the half in Columbia. Will get my packet Friday so if I should decide to run it I can just show up at the starting line.

gotta have some weight gain from eating out and sitting around a lot for a week.........
