Decided to take my last MAY Challenge off day today to rest a bit for the race.  Colder today than expected has led me to think about using the wetsuit, hadn't planned on it but I think I am going to now.  I think that will help my swim leg, if I can do close to 9 min flat I will be in top 3 placings from the last couple of years and with the wetsuit I think it's possible.  My Bike I would love to be able to hit that 22 mph the whole time and maybe a bit faster if I can be under 35 min it will be top 5 for the past 2 years, I think doable but I might be sucking wind at that point.  The run is going to suck my time away, knowing it going in helps but irks me all the same.  I'm thinking first mile 9:30 then attempt 2.1 at closer to 8 min/mile I don't know if it is possible but going all out!

Evening run with Slammer. Faster than expected for the RPE. Felt good.

Good run, thinking about the race on Sunday for a goal to go for.  My main idea is just to go balls to the walls and consider it too easy if I don't puke at the end Money mouth.  Not really, or maybe, but you get the idea.  So I'm thinking of trying for 22mph avg on the bike and setting the 910xt virtual pacer to 9:30 min/mile which would be a PR run speed for any of my races.

 

So I'm thinking (roughly):

600 meter swim: 10:30
12 mile bike:  33
5k run: 29
Total: 1:12 plus 4-5 for transitions 1:17 or so?

 

Might be pushing it a bit on that time but like I said balls to the walls!!
