Hello out there in BT land.  I've been lazy and haven't been logging in my workouts.  I've been running but a sore achilles has dampened the spirits a bit.  Took about 4 or 5 days off to rest it.  Did a race yesterday and was sure that I would BONK!!!  But did fine.  30K race, PR for me, 2 PR's this season, well I've never done a 30K so it's a PR!!  Ate some spicy food the night before and thought for sure that would cause me some problems....but nope..lucky for me...caused me some problems late yesterday afternoon after the race but not during!  I didn't even know if I was going to do this race until late Saturday night, maybe that's best!  Little sore today but really not too terribly bad.  Training partners called to see if I wanted to do this race, I hemmed and hawed and finally committed.  Race went extremely well, didn't really push and still did a 7:31 pace, I need a 7:38 or 39 pace to qualify for Boston...I hope Chicago is kind to me.  I need to remember to take in some power gels or gu's...I'm thinking Mile 9, 15 and 21 but does anyone out there have any suggestions?  Should I take in gu's a little before like mile 5 or 6?  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Yes Life has been busy Mr. Sparco!  Son is playing football now.  It's all or nothing when he gets the ball. 70 yd and 35 yd TD's so far. a couple of 20 yard runs and a 40 yarder as well..he is playing soccer as well. School for the kids has been busy too...work has slowed, so it has been nice..I haven't had to travel too much..always a good thing..Watched some Football yesterday..Go Colts..did you see that last play in the Jets vs. Colts game?  Talk about being on the edge of my seat..

I think I will try to get a run in today..trying to get that soreness out of my legs..hope all is well...sounds like a couple of you have had some great runs the past week or so..Nice to see PR's..way to go Laura and Hayes!!!

A little more sore than I thought, my quads were screaming at me to stop! Well, pushed on for 6.2 miles..every step hurt.
