Just a coupl'a loops around the ol' complex. Did it while the laundry was in.

Packing night underway!!

1930 - ALEVE WORKED!!!  No pukies, and it pretty much kept me pain-free all afternoon!!

1320 - OK so many of you know that I can't take any other pain killers than Tylenol because they upset my stomach to the point that I throw up.  Well, I've decided today to give Aleve another try, it's been years since I've tried it.  So far, so good.  Usually, an NSAID will make me throw up in 20 minutes or less.  Advil still does it.  But so far, after 25 minutes the Aleve is staying down and not causing any upset!! This would be AWESOME for me and my back pain for Saturday.  If I could pop some Aleve for anti-inflammatory response before the race, and then again during the bike, I'd be fine to complete the whole race nearly pain-free!!  Plus, I'll take some Tylenol rapid-release with me just for an extra pain-killing boost if I need it during the run.  This is a good thing!!  Yay!

1130 - So get this...I completely forgot to mention that the other night I had THREE dreams about being in prison.  Three separate dreams, but all three were connected.  In one, I was bumming about being there and trying to figure out how my life would be different when I got out.  In the second one I was stressing about work, talking to a therapist, trying to find a portable fan that was under my bed in my cell (which was a patio with screens and windows...go figure) and going to the bathroom a lot (yeah, TMI I know)...and in the third one I was wondering how I was gonna tell work that when I go home at night, it was to prison, not to my house.  I don't even know what I was convicted of in the first dream.  Strange though that I had three connected dreams...and stranger still that I got an email later in the day about someone in my family being on probation and if he doesn't stay on the straight and narrow, he will go to prison for...yep...5 years.  Weird.

0910 - I'm in kind of a pissed-off-ish mood.  I guess it's just a chain reaction of being mad at work because of the pay reduction, and not wanting to be here.  I really hate my job and this pay reduction makes me hate it even more.  I'm stuck here though, until I can either find something else (which is impossible right now) or get educated in personal training and get going with that.  But with the pay reduction, it's impossible for me to afford school.  UGH.  So I'm just pissed off cuz I feel like there's nowhere to go and I'm trapped in this awful hell hole.
On the lighter side, 5 days til IMFL.  At least I have that to look forward to.  Actually, what I'm looking forward to is it being over so I can concentrate on running.  Today is only a 2 mile run.  Yay!  Race week is here!

Straight swim in Bally's pool.

1825 - I'm still dumbfounded.  I had this whole plan of how I'd have conquered my debt by next year and now it's all gone to shit.  So much for having extra money to finance my transition into being a personal trainer.  YET ANOTHER dream that has to go away.  I didn't run or bike tonight cuz my heart just wasn't in it.  I kinda swam out some stress, hence the 1:39 pace, but still, this really fucking sucks.

1430 - Good thing I'm taking a year off of Ironman.  I just got hit with an $8,000/yr pay cut.   I just went from "I can afford all my bills and afford to travel and race" to "I can no longer afford to race".    Guess I need to find a second job now.  This is wonderful news to hit me right before my Ironman.  Sheesh, if I didn't wanna do it before, this certainly makes me not wanna do it even MORE now.  There goes my out-of-debt plan.

1135 - Yeah...Ummmm....I've been going a little nuts with the icanhascheezburger.com stuff today.

0830 - It took me NINETY MINUTES to get to work today!!!  WHAT.  THE.  HELL!!!!  I'm glad it's Friday.  I could NOT deal with this crap if it were not Friday.  UGH.  I hope the rain stops.
Tonight another 1000yds is on the schedule, this one is just a straight 1000 though.  Then I probably should make up my 30 minute ride, and I have to run for 10 minutes.  It's like a little tri!

Went up to the weight room here in my apartment complex. Did a superset of
5 x 10 pulldowns (110lb)
5 x 5 pullups (narrow underhand grip)

Then came home and did
5-6-7-8-9 medium grip underhand pullups
superset with
10-8-6-4-2 decline pushups

Followed by 50 situps. Then I ran a mile.

Probably not enough to justify the steak and cheesecake I ate for dinner, but oh well.

0830 - Hamstrings and back very sore today.  5K did NOT help any.  I MUST figure out this back problem this week.  Need to go to a chiropractor STAT!!!  Supposed to bike 30 and run 10 tonight.  Gotta see what I can manage.
730pm, Cheesecake Factory, Brandon Mall.  Miles and Munchies, part 2!

Graveyard Run.

I went out pretty fast, first mile was 6:05 and subsequent miles were slower. I think my last mile actually approached 7 minutes. My split at Mile 2 was 12:52 and Mile 3 was 19:37...so it was almost a 7 minute mile. Certainly closer than it was to 6.

Anyway, it was enough to come in 5th overall, just behind the 18 year olds. So I'm pretty happy with that.

With all my little calorie burner workouts all day, I did...
150 pushups
60 decline pushups
120 bicycle crunches
60 leg planks
60 toe touches, each side

Calorie burner workout - 1345, 1420, 1450, 1525, 1610, 1640,

1350 - Oh boy did I do a bad thing at lunch today.  Not only did I have Thai, I had a Thai BUFFET!!  Lots of Tom Khar, lots of Pad Thai, lots of curry chicken.  BAD Q!!!  So this afternoon I will burn calories.  Every half hour or so, I will do the following...
25 pushups
10 decline pushups
20 bicycle crunches
10 leg planks
10 alternate toe touches, each side
Starting in the 1300 hour all the way til 1700 when I leave for Dunedin.

0730 - Have I mentioned how much I love living in Florida at this time of year?  Have I?  Really?  Oh...well okay, lemme mention it again!
Slept with the windows open again, nice breeze blowing in.  Ahhhh...what a good night's sleep!  I woke up twice in the middle of the night really thirsty though.  Probably the dry air.  It's very un-humid here (for Florida) right now, so that's probably it.
Tonight...a Miles and Munchies variation of sorts.  There's a free 5K and shoe demonstration sponsored by Saucony at American Running Company in Dunedin tonight.   So come on out and run with us!!  Then we'll grab some food after.  Just an FYI to the Tampa Mafia...I'm CRAVING Thai food, I was craving it last night and I was brutally rebuffed by three restaurants...two closed, one GONE.  I want Thai.  I may break down and have it for lunch, but we'll see.
