At Boyette.

Most intense MTB ride to date! I was bloody and muddy. I fell about 10 times, rode down some CRAZY downhills, and fell on some steep uphills. Luckily I didn't fall on any of the downhills...but I did manage to whack myself in the shin with my pedal on one of them. So...nice big bone contusions on my left leg again...yay me.

Still, what an awesome ride! All blue and black runs today, nothing easy except the multi use trail to get to the black diamond runs. South Abyss, North Abyss, and Pandemonium for black. Spider Berm and Golf Cart for blue. GREAT RIDE!!

Eighth day of intense workouts in a row...I definitely had no energy to be climbing steep uphills on my MTB today...I could TOTALLY tell the difference from how I usually feel on these bike trails.  I felt like a beginner today...fallin' down, heaving, losing balance...sheesh!!  My core and legs are TRASHED!!

LONG ASS CROSSFIT DAY!!!
Speaking of ass...my poor butt is all chafed from the 150 situps we did during the first WOD.

WU:

5 min jumprope with 5 burpees at every minute mark
Stretch

Intervals:
60-40-20 sec intervals of
Flutter kicks
Plank alternating oblique crunches
Alternating toe touches
Plank touches

Strength/speed:
Partner pull/sprints x 10 (my 120 pound weight was my friend Tracy...she pulled 150 pounds. ME.)

Individual METCON WOD:
10 rounds of -
15 table situps (similar to GHD's)
10 pushups
5 burpee box jumps
10:33 first done...Tracy was second only by 7 seconds!

Partner Strength/Endurance WOD:
8 rounds of -
Push a 45# plate 150m
Exercise
(One partner pushes while other exercises, then switch.)
Exercises were...
Donkey kicks
Jumping lunges
Pushups
Burpees
Heel touches
Mountain climbers
Jump squats
Jumping jacks
Tracy and I were first team done. Like 45 minutes or something stupid like that...INTENSE LONG WOD!!
Pushing a 45 pound plate up a hill on the grass is fucking crazy. I think Scoot regretted making up this workout, as he had to do it with us.

SEVEN DAYS OF CROSSFIT!!  DONE!!

Bring on the summer CF competitions...I'm ready to kill 'em!! :)

I used my Asics Speedstars for this workout...I forgot to bring the Newtons with me this morning. So these were all I had. I hate running in them.

Anyway, these were my CrossFit run splits.

On the fly WOD at the Suncoast Trail parking lot.

8 rounds of:
Run 200m
20 KB swings, 25#

This was actually difficult after riding my bike for 2 hours and the fact that it was 90 degrees already!! As usual people looked at me like I had five heads. But...ya know...I like that.

I swear if I keep doing CrossFit in public places I might just get clients from it.  Maybe I stumbled onto something! :)

Fifth CF day in a row!!

Today's WOD...
"Whit's Preflight"

10 (yes TEN!!) rounds, for time, of:
200 jumpropes (or 50 DU's...I don't have 'em yet)
10 dumbbell burpees (2 x 15#)
10 KB swings (35#)
50 seated rows (60# on cable)

Total time was 40:19...first 5 rounds were 19:20 and the last 5 took 20:59...over a minute and a half longer! I thought I was staying pretty good on track with the first five, but oh well...still a kickass workout.

A big huge football-lookin dude told me I made him feel inadequate. :) Cool.

Today's WOD was the CF main site WOD for Tuesday. It struck my fancy so I decided to give it a shot. It was a good workout. I think with some strength training I could get this one down under 6:30.

21-15-9 reps, for time, of:
95# front squat
Burpees
Pullups

It's funny...the burpees were like my rest time...I'm so used to doing them now, that they have become an "easy" exercise...something brainless. Pullups still hurt, and the front squats were challenging.

I did almost the ENTIRE workout UNBROKEN!! No putting the weight down on the squats, no stopping in the middle of the burpees. I came off the bar once during the pullups in round 2...that's it. Round 1 was 21 all in a row!!

The training has begun!
I'm officially signed up for a national CrossFit competition on August 4, 2012.  It's called Festivus Games...and the Florida regional competition is gonna be in West Palm Beach at CrossFit City Place.  Whit and I will be heading up the Tampa CrossBoot team.  It's an individual competition, but we'd love to see ourselves take home some prizes and be the top box at the competition.

As a result of this renewed training goal, I've been CrossFitting like a maniac!!
Every chance I get, I try to get in a WOD or just a small amount of CF during the day.  My goal for this week is to do CF every day for seven days straight.  It may not be a great idea, but my body needs a jumpstart for what's gonna be a rigorous training regimen for the Festivus Games.

Whit and I will also be doing a preliminary competition at CrossFit Jaguar in North Tampa in mid-July...so come out and cheer us on!  It'll be a team of four...we're on the lookout for our other two teammates.  Think you have what it takes??

CrossFit Jaguar is somewhere in Carrollwood, on North Dale Mabry...Google them for the exact address.  We are definitely looking forward to having a cheering section for this competition.  Having a bunch of friends at a grueling competition like this always helps motivation.  Besides, I need someone to video us!! :)

Speaking of videos...we have decided to make a video blog of our training efforts!  Every week we'll pick an amazingly hard WOD, video it, and put it up on my YouTube channel for everyone to see, and then challenge our CrossBooty's to come and try to beat our times at it.  Should be a great training tool for both me, and our fellow CrossBooty's.
We did "Me Love You Long Time"...it's a crazy long WOD that tests ALL areas of CrossFit discipline...strength, endurance, speed, gymnastics, and flexibility.  Check out the pic below for what the WOD consists of!
So...now that you know what kind of insanity we decided to undertake...
Here is this week's video...

It took me 41:54 and Whit 47:29 to complete this crazy WOD.
Watch this 9 minute video and GET INSPIRED!!

I can't wait to do the next one.  Whit is running the San Diego Marathon (good luck Whit!!!) this weekend, so no WOD video next week, but starting the second week in June, look for a vid every Tuesday or Wednesday.

Post workout pic.  We are WRECKED.  But I felt like Superman when we were done...it's such a great feeling...and it's so awesome to have a badass CrossFitting supergirl like Whit to do these workouts with!!  Huge inspiration every time I work out with her.  :)  XOXO

I went to CrossBoot tonight after the Feet First run club just to do the main WOD.

30 sec of each exercise in round 2, 15 sec rest after each complex

1. Plate curls/Donkey kicks
2. Tricep extensions/Mtn climbers
3. Pushouts/pushups
4. Around the head left/jumping jacks
5. Around the head right/straight leg toe kicks
6. Oblique crunch left/plank alternating leg crunch
7. Oblique crunch right/heel touches
