2010 - Will the heart let me train?
February 21
February 20
Lactate Threshold
3 mile warm up - 8:05 pace.
7 miles tempo (48:27, 6:55 pace, 175 avg HR).
2 mile warm-down - 8:31 pace.
Hard run. Really didn't feel good on the tempo portion. Since I did the run in the neighborhood I used the 3 mile loop. So on the tempo portion, miles 1, 4 and 7 are pretty much up, so they hurt a bit (and is where I hit my peak HR of 184 on the last lap).
Only good thing is that it was a balmy 38 out this morning! ;-P

Medium-long.
Stayed in the neighborhood. 3 of the big loops (3 miles each), 3 of the regular loops (1.7 miles each). As usual, pushed the last lap for an 11:09 (6:34 pace).
Really not that great of a run. Had to work to keep the pace and motivation going. Cold and really windy.
Once again, I f'ing hate the cold .....

39 x 15 @ 100 level 3
Usual spin. Half aero, half not. Seemed a little hard too.
Recovery brick.
Easy big loop around the neighborhood. Leisurely run.

No workout again because of having to get to the court early and drop the kids off.
Court was fine. We opted to grant the temporary mechanic's lien with the placement of it "stayed" until arbitration is done (which is what the contract said they were supposed to do first anyways). Still a pain in the azz to deal with, and still cost us a few hours in lawyer fees, but that part is over. Now we have to wait for the arbitration hearing in a few months. Joy ..........

Oh well ..... yesterday ended up being a rest day from tri training. But I still got a bit of a workout from the shoveling.
Didn't run this morning because all my usual roads are still ice sheets basically. Normally have a trainer ride tonight, but there is a father/son thing at the oldest's school tonight that we will probably be going to which doesn't end until 8-ish. We'll see how that goes. Possibly two rest days in a row??
And then tomorrow is the court hearing about the house ....... so no swim in the morning unless I go REALLY early. Could mean 3 rest days in a row. Good thing this is a "recovery" week ...........

c/d - 100 easy
Ran out of time again at the pool so didn't get to do the other two 200's after the kick session, only got one of the 3 in.
Didn't get my ride in last night because I had to work late and then take care of getting the kids to bed when I got home.
The reason for the "injury" tab is that I've got something painful going on with the top of my big toe area. It's some sort of nerve damage or something because it's really painful when you push directly on it (which all my shoes do of course) so I've been running around work and home in just socks as much as possible. I can move the toe everywhere with no pain, but as soon as you press on the skin/nerves above and behind the toe it's painful. Really strange injury, but I still run with it and just suck it up. It doesn't get worse with running, but obviously doesn't get better.
