w/u - 300 swim
Main Set:
6 x 150 - descend 2, 2, 2 (:20 rest)
- bonus rest 1:00 -
3 x 100 descend (:15 rest)
That's all I had time for before they closed the pool. Sucks to only be able to squeeze that little bit in. :(
Well, didn't bid on the Colnago I wanted on EBay. At the last hour it almost doubled in price, went way out of what I was willing to pay for it. Oh well ..... the hunt is back on!
I can't get a Colnago out of my head!! I found a bunch of places online that sell them new and found a really good price on a similar model to what I want (Steel with Carbon stays) at a dealer in Switzerland of all places! But there price even with shipping is about $400 less than anything I could find here! There is also a shop in the Chicago area that has an all steel model in the color that I like in stock, but the price is a little up there compared to some places.
The good news maybe ........ Veltec Sports is now the distributor for Colnago in the US. My old shop does stuff with Veltec ..... so they might be able to get the frames (at cost). If I can purchase it direct from the distributor instead of having to pay retail that will be HUGE!! I hope the shop is allowed to order solo frames and doesn't need to have a minimum buy-in .........

Long
Laps at Centennial. Purposefully tried to keep it in the reasonable long distance pace, which was fine because I was pretty tired after 10-ish. GUs at 5 mile intervals, Vitamin water at 2.5.
Still cold and windy, but not as bad as usual. Probably in the mid 40's.

39 x 15 @ 100 level 3
1/2 aero, 1/2 not. Tiring ride but felt okay. Can't wait to get outdoors. Would have been able to later today if we didn't have so much to do around the house. So I rode inside.
Recovery Brick
Easy loop around the neighborhood. I've got a cold coming on, so it was good to get out in the air and blow all the crap out of my sinuses.

w/u - 10 x 50 (:20 rest)
1000 yard TT - 20:07
c/d - 10 x 50 (:30 rest)
Started the TT off strong, but really fell off after about 400 meters. Need more pool time I guess. But it was faster than last month's!
Plan is to do my monthly 1,000 yard TT today at the pool.
Went to the shop yesterday and got cost prices on the 808's and 999's. Paul (the owner) sponsors a duathlon team that is going to get Zipp as a semi-sponsor again so he will be putting the team deal together and I'll probably get in on that. So he said it is about 15% or so off of cost. Looks like I might get the 999's then. ;)
Also priced up build kits for a frame/fork. Campy Chorus or Record to go on a Colnago steel frame. Just trying to find one I like and that will fit on EBay or Craigslist. If I do that however, no powermeter will be on the list .......

Medium-long
Out and back to I-95. Even pace. Was dark by the time I got back. Started to feel the weekend's race at about the 10 mile mark.
Probably going to be sore from this one ......
Planned 12 medium-long today. Woke up at 5:00 and looked outside already knowing I was probably not going to be able to run. I could have, but I am sick of having to tip-toe every stride to keep from slipping on my ass on the ice. So I went back to sleep and will do my run this afternoon when it is (barely) above freezing.
At least it looks like as of Saturday the temps will start to be up where they are supposed to be (50's). I sure as hell hope winter is over after that. Also, going to Brendan's school today to sign the W-2 form thing we need to for the raffle prize. Should get our money next week. Which is good because there is a steel framed Colnago on EBay that I want that ends on Saturday night. ;)

39 x 15 @ 100 level 3
Usual Tuesday night spin done this morning since I had to work late last night and I wasn't going to be able to get to the pool today. The oldest was supposed to have a all school Mass today, but they cancelled most schools in the area becasue it's snowing. I didn't know that until I turned on the TV during my trainer ride. Oh well!
Didn't use the HRM on this ride.
