Taking another rest day today. Tonight the wife and I are going to see Chris Botti do his thing with his trumpet. Should be a good time!
I'm letting a friend of ours (mother of one of the kids in Brendan's class) borrow my FSA's for her sprint this weekend. Hopefully she does well with them and likes them. There's an outside shot she might want to buy them if she does. That would be cool to offset the Zipp costs. ;-P

Easy recovery type swim.
1 x 1000 easy continuous.
2 x 100 easy.
Legs started to tire even though I was not using them much, so decided to call it quits after the second 100. My 1000 time was 20:20 and I was going really easy, so that makes me happy considering I couldn't break 20 last month busting my ass!

Rest day. Took today off from work to rest/recover and hang out with the wife.
Today is also free scoop day at Ben and Jerry's scoop shops, so if you have one local, go get some free grub! ;)

Race Day.
Bad cramps, high HR and generally bad day from a racing standpoint. But the spectators were awesome and the experience was something special to participate in. Other than the actual race result itself the weekend was fantastic.

TRAVEL DAY.
Leaving the house to go get on that big old jet airliner. So far it is not delayed, so things are looking good!
After putting the kids to bed last night I was going to eat a pint of Ben and Jerry's but while I was waiting for it to soften (it has to be just right to eat it ...... not quite soup, but not as hard as when it comes out of the freezer - there is an art to it ;) )my stomach and head didn't feel right. Almost felt like the flu. Great, all I need less than 48 hours from my race. Feel a little better this morning, but we'll see how the day progresses.
Thanks for all the well-wishes! I'll do my best with what the day and my body offers!
(Oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!! 36 today .........)

Recovery + Speed
2 of the shorter laps around the neighborhood with 4 x 100 strides mixed in. Felt super easy but the pace is actually well below "recovery."
Travel day tomorrow, fly out in the morning and then to the Expo. to pick up my stuff. Gotta remember to drink lots!
