Good swim, not many people at the pool. Luckily there was a faster lady in the lane next to me with a longish workout, so it kept me honest and moving.

Going to try and get down to Annapolis today to get the bike checked out at the designated shop so I don't have to try and rush down there next week with everything we have going on.

September 2

Medium-long run on the schedule and lots of house work ......  Did work around the house, but didn't run.  My back was sore (probably from golf) and legs were tired (probably from the brick) and since I'm on mini-taper right now I said screw it.

Got the house edition yesterday.  Little bit of sidework to help pay the credit card down.

Bike
  • 2h 24m
  • 47.00 miles
  • 19.58 Mi/hr

Medium long ride. The route was the hillier one the other direction. Makes for a tough ride and a slower average, but was still a good one! Windy though .....

  • 20m 22s
  • 3.00 miles

Fast brick

Went quick for one loop around the neighborhood. Kept a quicker pace, but the effort wasn't all that hard. That looks good for next weekend. I want to be in the 6:15 range for splits there, so hopefully I've got the legs for it.

Shorter brick on the schedule today (around 40-ish and 3-ish).  Then this afternoon I'm meeting a family about doing an addition to their place for their mother-in-law.  Will be my second out of office job if I get it.  The owner is a vendor for us (printing company) and we've known each other for a few years.

August 31

Baltimore AIA golf tourney today.  My once a year day to play golf.  It is always a fun time as all frosty cold beverages and food is provided.  Last year it rained, today it looks as if it will be gorgeous!!

So obviously no real workout today. ;)

Recovery

Guilty slow 2 laps around the neighborhood. Nice and easy.

Run
  • 31m 37s
  • 4.00 miles
  • 07m 54s /Mi

Okay ... so that wasn't exactly a recovery run ..... but I was grumpy again and a little ticked that the guy I run with wasn't ready at noon, so I pushed the pace. He is an 8 min. pace 5k guy and I pushed us right at that pace and slightly faster at the end. Oh well, not so grumpy anymore. ;)

Swim
  • 43m 25s
  • 2200.00 yards
  • 01m 58s /100 yards

Continuous swim without the wetsuit. Just wanted to stay smooth and consistent and did okay with that. Certainly wasn't fast, but didn't ever feel like I was floundering. The only reason I didn't go longer was there was a line of people waiting to get into the pool (one of the other pools in the system was closed for this week) and it was already after 8 so I needed to get in to work.

Oh, and that puts me over 30k for the month - a new record and met my swim challenge goal for the month!

  • 12.00 miles

Medium-long

Out and back to I-95 along 216 (usual loop). Pace was consistent and effort seemed just about right. Running on slightly fatigued legs and still putting out decent pace, so training is coming along well.

Pre-K parents' orientation this evening for the middle bug, so no Princeton ride today.  May try to fit in a trainer ride.  But I knew this week was going to be a step down week.  Then next will be a mini-taper for Annapolis.
