General Aerobic

2 of the bigger loops around the hood. Windy, overcast and a little misty now and then, but not the heavy downpour they have been calling for. Nice even pace, felt easy at the beginning, took some effort towards the end but stayed even.

House cleaning, going to pick up the cake and the canollis downtown, Brendan has a Halloween party tonight and just all around busy.  Gonna try to go for a short run at least later.

Neck is still bothering me too.  Really worried because the left side of my face feels a little numb every now and then.  Mir's mom said it could be viral, it could be a pinched nerve or it could be something else (she even said maybe a mild stroke).

My neck is STILL bothering me.  Plus the project is due today, I've been working late all week and we have my Aunt-in-law's surprise 70th birthday party this weekend so have been busy with the planning and fine tuning.

Good thing this is the "off season" for me!

Rest day again.  Project is due tomorrow and I've been working late every night with tonight as no exception.  Luckily this is "forcing" me to take my little offseason break.  Hopefully this will recharge my batteries and get me ready to start the base phase of next year's work!

1000 yard TT ...... 16:50!! Another new PR!! 1:41/100 average. That would have been unheard of for me last year!

Really focused on getting my right arm to "break" when it starts the pull with that whole EVF approach. I seem to be pretty good with my left as it comes naturally, but the right arm really struggles for some reason. So I focused on that with the drills. All of the 100's in between the drills were comfortably in the 1:3X range so I decided to go for a 500 yard pushed effort for the rest of the workout. Then after posting a 1:32 first 100 I decdied to f-ck it and go for another 1,000 yard TT run. What do you know??!! Another new PR!!

Really putting the "doing less to do more" into play considering how little I've swam compared to last year and how much more improvement I've made!!

Swim this morning, woking late all week for project deadline Friday.

October 21

Taking the day off from excercise.  Really hard to do it as I had my running stuff set up and alarm went off at 5:30.  But my neck is still bothering me, my ear is still bothering me and I have this sore on my tongue that makes it tough to swallow and talk.  Not to mention I am supposed to be taking it super easy as my "off season" for the next two weeks (3 total after the marathon).

Recovery

2 of the 2k loops at x-country practice with Brendan. He ran a negative split with the 2nd loop because he was chatting non stop about Super Paper Mario which I let him start a week or so ago.

Left side of my neck is bothering me almost like a pulled muscle.  Has been for a few days but not sure what caused it.  Also, little bit if a cold with swollen glands and such.

General Aerobic

Out and back to Crest Rd. sign on 216. Cool, slightly windy, sunny out. Felt good to run. Not too tired, just the right distance. A little bit sluggish towards the end. But amazingly felt pretty good during the run! Obviously not fully recovered, but a lot further than I would have expected.
