2010 - Will the heart let me train?

November 22

Walk For The Homeless in DC this morning.  5k walk around the Mall in freezing temps with a real biting wind.  It sucked!!  At least weather-wise.  All 3 kids were fussing, my ears and face were freezing and my fingers were getting numb even with my usual cold weather gloves.  Wish I could have run it, then it would have been over in 19 minutes and I could have gotten warm.  Instead we were out there for about 1:15 ....... ugh!!

Not really going to log it, but it was a workout of sorts.  Football game tomorrow.  Ravens vs. Eagles in Baltimore.

Should be getting this phase of the project done by 3-ish.  Got up, got the kids out the door, got to work.  Going to do a few errands after leaving early (hopefully).  We are doing this "walk for the homeless" tomorrow down in DC with one of Mir's friends and her family.  So walking around instead of running tomorrow.  Gonna be frickin' cold ......

Another damn PA trip.  Yeah, I get $150 on my expense report every time I go, but twice in one week is killing my other project which is due for another phase submission on Monday.  So again, working late a lot and not getting any workouts in ........ grrrrr.  Good thing it is "off season?????"

Recovery

Well ..... it was supposed to be recovery! I am worried about my heart and the whole face thing so didn't run or ride yesterday and wanted to just go short and easy today. Very little effort, just cruising along two of the shorter loops around the hood. But turns out to be a great run! Felt nice to have that .....

PA punch list visit today, then picked up one kid (other got sent home early), then we are having a small birthday party for our good friend (and old nanny) watching WALL-E and eating Chinese.  Doubtful getting any sort of workout in .....

Something was all wrong with my heart today. By the 50 point of each regular 100 it was really hard to get any sort of oomph out of my stroke and my HR was through the roof! At the end of each one I was winded and weak. I checked my HR after one and it was close to 280 bpm ..... Super fast, super shallow and skipping all over the map.

I think I want to go to a doc. and test for Lyme Disease ... intuition says I need to do it .....

General Aerobic

Usual out and back. Crazy windy of course, in my face on the return leg. Knee started to bother me and I finally just told it to f-ck off and cut the bullshit and wouldn't you know it, by the time I got home it wasn't bothering me anymore. Mind over matter I guess! ;)
