2010 - Will the heart let me train?

April 20

Rest day.

Watched the women's olympic trials.  Great race venue, great race and exciting to watch.  Deena Kastor is an amazing runner!

Rested the rest of the day and had some lobster and clams out with Mir.

Travel day.  Registered at the expo, wandered around and looked at stuff, got my gait analyzed to see what sort of shoes I'm "really" supposed to be running in.  Pretty good day.

Had this nagging thing going on in my left knee starting late yesterday.  Almost like an ITB issue, but not quite.  Definitely some kind of tendon thing.  I'm guessing that it was the way I was sitting at my desk at work.  So I didn't run this morning and will let it heal up just in case it is something running related.

Recovery

2 of the shorter loops around the hood. Just another run, nothing remarkable. Still cold out in the morning (around 34 at my house).

I took advantage of the Giro promotion through Team Zoot Gu today.  Ordered the Advantage 2 helmet.  Should see it in a week or two!  And the price rocked.

The frame was shipped yesterday, so I should have that by Tuesday when I get back from Boston.  Woohoo!!

Pacing Dress Rehearsal

4 miles at marathon effort for HR (even though I do not plan on running at that effort come race day as I do not have the long distance mileage in the legs for the race). Pace per mile was 7:08, 7:02, 6:41, 6:54 for those first 4 miles. Works out to about 6:54 pace at an effort level of right around 174 bpm, which would be my marathon HR range in a perfect setting.

Chaperoning a field trip for the middle one today.  So I won't get into work until about lunchtime.

Two easy loops around the hood. Frickin' 28 degrees out ...... in the middle of April .....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!

Going to the shop after work to order a bunch of really light parts for my build (swapping most over from Sheila, so only need things like a lighter fork, bars, stem, etc.).  Then we're going to Red Robin for burgers and beer to celebrate my day.

Getting the kids out the door, then over to the pool for a short swim.

Damn pool was out of power, so the pumps weren't on and they closed.   No swim because of that .... grrrr.

Oh ..... this is what I won yesterday on EBay ....... Mmmmmmmm, sub 900 gram frame ..... yummy!!!

Guess the pic is not working.  Here's the auction listing:
