Okay swim. Really need to get in the pool more and will be really concentrating on not slacking off in the next few months. I can't afford to!!
Feel pretty good overall though. Not sore to the touch like I was most of last week. We'll see how tomorrow's run goes.
Brought the fork and the seatpost in to take to the shop to cut it (I don't have a blade guide at home, so will go to the shop to do it there). I need about an inch off of the fork and can take about two or three off of the seatpost (it was a 350, all I could get in that model). The fork was 296 grams before cutting and the seatpost was 191. We'll see how much the cutting knocks off. ;)
With cages and pedals and uncut seatpost/fork the bike weighed in at 15.5 ........ kept looking at all my numbers seeing where the "bust" was and figured I had estimated the wheels/tires/tubes/cassette but when I actually went down and weighed those there was a 218 gr. difference between what is advertised and what they actually weigh ... grrrrrrr. That's a 1/2 pound!! I did buy lighter tubes, so I'll get those put in soon. But it is all not going to get the complete bike below 15 like I was hoping.
May be time to break out the Zero Gravity brakes and go to SRAM red for the shifters and rear derrailleur. Those would take out well over 250 grams and easily get me below 15!!
Damn big frames weigh too much ........ why do I have to be so tall???

Spent over 3 hours cutting the grass yesterday, and it is still not finished! Our riding mower has a starter problem and the mechanic picked it up Friday, so I have to do our whole 3/4 acre of grass (acre yard) with a regular push mower. I kept working until it finally had enough and flooded when I was restarting it after filling the gas (for the 3rd time). But the yard does look nice!
We have a live show for the "Backyardigans" for the kids in Baltimore today, so most of the day will be taken up with that. Then we'll see if I can get out for a ride later. I sure hope so .....
Hurray for Ferrari! 1-2 at GP of Barcelona today. Take over constructor's championship and puts Raikkonen even further into the driver's lead. Woohoo!!
No ride obviously .... started raining lightly and working on bike set-up.

Recovery
Easy lap of the big loop through the hood. Legs are definitely still fatigued and sore, but did okay. Still need to ease back into it.
Picked up the parts from the shop yesterday. Still need to swap a few things over, but the bike is basically put together other than cables and such. The Giant frame weighed in at 1,171 compared to the 1,011 for the Scott. That's 160 grams or .35 pounds. 1/3 of a pound may not seem like much, but for just the frame that is pretty good! Especially considering the Giant wasn't a boat anchor to begin with - it is still lighter than probably 80% of the stuff out there.
All the rest of the weight savings is coming from the parts, which would be weight loss reagradless of what bike I put it on. But I wanted durability as well, so while I could have gone lighter on some things I'd start sacrificing strength and performance. I'm also not upgrading the wheels, so I'll continue using my Mavic Ksyrium SSC SL's, which aren't bad, but are not as light as a lof of things out there. I'm not going to be able to get it much below 15 it looks like without changing out all the Dura Ace stuff for other aftermarket parts or going with the SRAM Red things. Still tossing that idea around ....... ;)

Was going to get up early and go for a really easy short run, but my right calf is still screamin' at me. We'll see how the day goes and maybe I'll run when I get home.
Gu stuff came in yesterday. Happy with the fit and the design. I'm set with gels and such for the rest of the year!
Going to Bed Bath and Beyond after work to buy a digital food scale that weighs in grams ...... yes, I've always been a weight weenie, but I want to know exactly what the new build is going to weigh! Probably submit it to light-bikes.com or something. ;)
Bare frame with headset cups in was 1011 gr. Headset parts were 70 gr., seat binder was 15 and fork with bearing race was a crazy 445 gr. Damn XL frame! I guess I would be under 1 kg without the bearing cups in though. The fork I ordered is advertised at 298 uncut, so that will make up the difference in what I was hoping the frame would be. Oh well, I'm sure there will be some other stuff that weighed more than advertised once I get it on the scale.

Another rest day. Not getting home from work until 1:30 in the morning doesn't help the recovery much, but I've got a project due out for permit today, so it needed to be that late.
Soreness really kicked in last night and today. Very achey.
My frame did come in yesterday! Didn't get to open it until this morning, but it looks good and is light as sh-t!! I'll take some pics later after getting home to post up.

General Aerobic
Out and back to my side of 29 on 216. Out portion was pushed to pretty much normal training pace (right around 7 minute pace) and the return was backed off a little (around 7:30 pace). Feeling a little fatigued though.
Bike build is all done! I'll be taking some pics and then posting all the stats and info. in a pjorn thread. I'll also be putting the Giant frame up on the classifieds and/or auction block soon.
Oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Mom!! She is the big 6 0 today .............
