2010 - Will the heart let me train?

July 13

Mir tried to let me sleep in which was really nice.  But with 3 kids running around doing their morning things (i.e. screaming, playing, yelling) it was pretty broken, but it was still nice.

Have to go in to work for a little bit after we run some errands.

Rest day.

Out and back to Rt. 3 by way of 216, Rt. 1, and 175 past Ft. Meade. A little less hilly route than what I've been riding and I decided to go at my usual effort and pace, which felt great to do. Had no troubles charging up the last few short/steep hills that are on the route and stayed nice and smooth in the 23 - 25 range on the flats.

I did have to stop around 18 miles or so to tighten my crank as it has been loosening up a bit lately and I could really notice it today.

Great ride overall.

Of course by the 25's I was starting to slow down a little. It wasn't so bad that I was having to do touch and go's on the 25's, but I never really got more than 5 or 6 seconds on them. Good short, intense set though, so it was good to get the blood flowing.

July 10

It's my bi-monthly construction meeting up in PA today.  Making today a full on rest day.  Body is still a bit more tired than I would like 1-1/2 weeks out, so let it rest some.  Maybe ..... maybe ..... an easy recovery run when I get home, but I might have to work late on a different project.

Easy ladder

1 x 500, 400, 300, 200, 100

With each distance I got a little faster until the 100 was at 1:41. Not hard effort, just consistently getting a bit quicker. Arms are a bit tired though.

Recovery

Easy out and back at lunch to the docks. Humid as hell, very slight shower for a few minutes. Tried to keep it really relaxed. Legs were a little tired.

Swim this morning, run at lunch, taking the dog to the vet after work so she can get all her shots current so we can put her up for the week in a kennel/dog hotel when we go to LP.

General Aerobic

Easy paced out and back to my side of 95 along 216. Saw vballumd03 again .... goofed off and turned around and ran backwards for about 100 meters .... got a "show off" out of it. ;)

Little bit tired towards the end of the run.

Princeton Sports group

8.2 mile ride over to the shop.

Ride with the group. Started in the middle of the pack and let the faster group go and then spent the ride chasing down as many as I could. I'd hold even with different groups on the flats and downhills and then catch different people on the hills.

Turn off at usual spot and rode home.

Crazy windy, very warm and humid. Tired old bones made for less than stellar ride.

Still no bib numbers for LP .......

NEW 100 PR!!!!!!!

Wanted to focus on quality and stroke over quantity. With the last 100 I decided to go for a fast one and set a new PR by over 8 seconds!! I was hoping for a 1:21 or 1:22 since my old PR was a 1:25. I f-cking crushed that!!! Hell yeah!!
