Another good night's sleep and I think I'm ready to try to do SOMETHING today :) I need to get the rust out now so I can have fun on Sunday :)
June 14
Single lap at flying J. I seriously thought about doing 2 laps, but I could feel the tendon in my leg getting a little tight, so I just quit before it hurt. Kept it in Z1-2 easily. Felt fine!
So I purposefully booked the last massage of the day so I could get a little extra time - I got just over 2 HOURS on the table. And only about 20 minutes of that was spent on anything other than my legs!! My therapist said she has NEVER seen me anywhere NEAR this bad. Usually I have glut and hammy issues, but my quads were BAD (she thinks I had a small tear that was recovering on my right quad) and my calves were so bad she thought that my right one was pretty damaged and almost bruised. Probably from all of the hills and sand, but the calf was definitely causing the knee pain. I was literally sweating like a pig on the table!! Got a TON of toxins flushed out though. Hopefully I'm ready to test the waters this afternoon... I feel like I could take one more day, but I also feel like I'm going to lose it if I can't run or bike! It's been 4 days with no bike or run and 2 days of NOTHING at all!
I finally slept 9 hours though!! YEAH!
June 13
Mountain bike ride with Chris and Adam. Kept it easy, short and sweet. Felt good to ride a MTB, but funny!! I haven't done it in YEARS!
another rest day, although I'm going to try to go mountain biking with Chris at lunch. I'm feeling OK, but for some reason my body doesn't want to sleep. I am thinking this is all a result of not recovering properly from Wildflower. I think after that I was running on pure adrenaline and bullshit. Now my body has said - NO MORE and need actual rest and recovery. My plan is to go easy today, yoga tonight, run tomorrow - 3-4 miles only and an easy bike. Then on Friday test a little with a longer run. Saturday, easy swim at the res followed by an equally easy bike. Then test the body on Sunday.
Goals for the sprint. 1:25:30 1:23:30
S:12:30 (13:30 last year)
B: :49 (22 mph) OOPS I just realized that this was wrong. 22 mph is 47 minutes! (50:47 last year - 20.1 mph)
R: :22 (7' miles) (24:33 last year - 7:55 pace)
That leaves 2:00 for transitions... Of course that's a stretch based on last year, but that's what I want :)
And that would put me on the podium in my AG from last year.

CD 200 easy.
OK so my swim this morning felt terrible. Something bad is going on with my body. My legs were actually fatigued trying to make :45 on 50's?! WTF?! SO to make a long story short, I'm taking 2 days completely off. Tomorrow and Wednesday are rest days. I'll try to bike on Thursday and run on Friday. If I'm not 100% on Friday, I'm skipping the sprint. Hopefully, I'll come around, but I'm not risking Nationals at this point!!
