Day of rest from biking, didn't want to run and aggravate my foot as I have a marathon this weekend. I will bike tomorrow morning and most likely swim tomorrow night.

Damn legs.  Wasn't feeling great on the ride this morning altough it is gorgeous outside.  I am worried about a double loop of Placid in one day. Hell I doubt I could ride a  loop today on that course with the fatigue I feel today.

Maybe I can do this.... I rode one lap of the IMLP course today but did skip the 1 mile out and back but I did ride every climb. Was actually shocked by how hard the first climb was leaving town and how much easier the cherries and bears were. I had keep getting terrible pain in my quads when I go over 40 miles. Terrible, debilitating pain. Nothing except time seems to help. After about 20 minutes the pain just goes away, almost like a light switch being turned off.

I loved the Descent into Keense. Only hit 43 mph and felt no need to hit the brakes. Towards the end of the descent, just as you enter Keene, there is radar, speed sign. Speed limit is 35 and I was doing 35. So cool.

The ride out 9n is awesome. Very scenic with mild rollers. The 5.6 mile out and back is also pretty mild. For you stronger riders you are going to fly.

The turn up 86 to head to Wilmington not as bad as I thought it would be. I did drop my chain shifting too quickly but I was able to shift up and get the chain back on.  The rest of the ride was great. I really was dreading the Cherries and Bears. I actually rode over them and didn't know it. I kept checking my mileage and thinking to myself "OMG" these climbs must be back to back as I am running out of mileage before entering back into Placid.

As I rode up Papa Bear, I noticed some idiot wrote Baby Bear on the road. This caused me some concern as Papa Bear is, well, Papa Bear. As I crested Papa Bear I missed the right turn towards Mirror Lake. I didn't realize this until I ended up in town. I kept expecting to run into the lake and make the left turn but suddenly I was in the Southern part of town.

Hooray!!! I did it.  Felt great. Can't wait to go back and ride it again. Unfortunately I will have to wait 3 weeks as I have a marathon next Sunday and a Century ride the Sunday after that.
