Group Brick - Did a bike ride in the morning followed up with a nice little run. Met up with a couple of people for the ride, and made an impromptu decision to follow it up with a run after. The ride was tough in parts (first ride on my bike outdoors this season). Definitely going to need to work on climbing/hills to get stronger. Felt fast and great on the flats.

Run after Bike - Just a nice, easy, conversation paced run to get the brick effect in this workout. actually felt great to get out on foot after the ride to loosen up everything. Plus it was great to have a conversation with someone new. I dont get many opportunities to workout with others, so it was a nice change of pace.

Lunchtime Run
Went for a lunchtime run with some guys at work. A couple of us stayed together for the first two miles and then went separate ways. Thought it would be fun to invite Mark Pinson for a torturous first day back out in the running shoes (he hasn't been running for ~4 years or so). His confidence made it fun to push him hard during the run, and I was able to give him a tough start to his training regimen. Mark kept up very well, esp. for the first couple of miles but began to slow and fatigue after about three. I took some of these opportunities to pick up my pace and run fast. A few times I was running between 7-7:30/mi pace, but it all averaged out with everything to about a 9 min/mi pace.

In any case, it was alot of fun and a good start to Mark's training. He's anxious to come back for more. We'll see how he's feeling tomorrow after today's run ;)

Another Fast Run!
Despite having a bit of a sore throat this morning, the run felt great. It was a little windy going out, but didn't notice it coming back (it might have been a wind to my back). Felt like I was pushing a little bit, but certainly not killing myself. It was a pretty enjoyable run. Running outdoors is so much more enjoyable! I lose myself out there, and 30 min. just flies by. So much different than the treadmill. Kind of glad I have the opportunity each year to learn how great it is to run outside. Makes me appreciate it that much more.
