got up at 4:30, got to tampa and mapped out a 10 mile path to do 2x (right on boardwalk/water). Did first 10 miles and felt great. It was still dark and sun just rising on the water. awesome. refueled at the car and realized it was more like 9 miles. Wendi and I kept passing each other cuz she runs faster but walks to bring HR down. But she scared me at the car and was behind me before I realized and swatted my booty. I jumped and screamed. Did the first 9 in 1:43.

2nd lap out i was feeling great until just at the turnaround at mile 14.5. And then just like always. Dead. my legs were fine, my heart rate fine. I think I just poop out. I also think I was low on nutrition. By this point had just taken 2nd gel and forced myself to keep it down. I just can't have more than a couple. i walked a ton here. I felt like throwing up and was getting goosebumps so dehyrdated and ran out of water and couldn't wait to get to water fountain. I bargained with myself to start running again but was only doing maybe 6 min run, 2 walk. Finished in 1:55. yeah 12 min slower but not surprised b/c of walking. Wendi had to stop for bathroom break so while I was waiting for her to finish 2nd lap I was like: I am not going out again for 2 more. no way. But when she got there, I chugged gatorade, some banana and I felt better. I was like: I will run for 5 and just turnaround. Well then I didn't want to be the wimp so I just kept going and did the last 2 miles but I was happy that I ran more than walked it. (OK the run was a lame shuffle but run nonetheless).

Quite sore but overall ok. Normal sore for 20 miles. And frankly I am amazed I did 20. I know if I were home I would have done 15 tops but having wendi there just made me not want to bail and so I am soooo glad we did this run together!! I just need to figure better nutrition so i don't just 'die' in the middle there. Will be doing a 20-22 in 2 weeks so will add some stuff.

We are hanging rest of day and of course watch the gators play tonight! I think I am taking a nap!

got to airport at 5:30. it was packed. took over 30 min at security. what is up with the crowd that early?

chatted with guy next to me whole time. He runs marathons...he is married with kids so don't get ideas but he asked all about my non profit and gave me his card. think I may have secured a new business donor!

Wendi picked me up at 9:30. We did some talking and walking-shopping and talking and eating and talking and walking-shopping and eating.

Got all ready for our long run!

yeah me on the run yesterday! And i don't think it is more than 100 yards short of a mile. When I get my garmin I will check but that is a loop I do a lot and is printed as '1 mile'..right past the state capital. pretty view. either way, that was the fastest I have ever run! yahoo!! I think I might hit a sub 30 for my 5k in October!

Legs feel great by the way. Not sore at all. The only thing I need to work on is my breathing. I could tell I was breathing in way too much and too shallow and too quick...almost passed out at the end. Guess i need to practice sprints more? Mark said it was the most I have ever pushed. He is an 8 min runner and said I was doing great. So that may be my weekly goal with him. Short runs but fast!

supposed to bike later. did I mention my hair? when I am in florida with g8er I will take pics so you will see then. Didn't realize how long it was until she straightened it! but that will be good for braids for MCM!

My flight to florida tomorrow to vist g8rsax leaves at 6:30 am! yikes!!!!

I think the course was just shy a mile folks though..

I was breathing like a person who never ran before so breathing labored and waayyy too shallow..how do I fix that?? But legs felt great.

squeezed my bike yesterday before church and got home late. FFH (christian recording group) leads our worship and they are leaving to run worship and radio in south africa for next 6 months so got home late.

Up for today: swim and run. Coach has me trying to hit 2 9:30 min miles. Yike! running with my friend mark..hope that will help.

SWIM ...NOT HAPPENING. I WAS SUPPOSED TO GO BEFORE HAIR APPT BUT GOT STUCK IN MTG AND NO WAY i AM STICKING IT IN CHLORINE AFTER WHAT I JUST SPENT...BUT MY HAIR LOOKS HOT!!! A LITTLE DEEPER AND REDDER! YOWZA!!

didn't have a lot of time but it was good to get back out there after so long

Had my connective tissue massage yesterday afternoon..man I am sore today. She said I was tight all in my arms and boy my legs..didn't think they were that bad until she worked on my shins...I realized from friday morning to yesterday I ran 20 miles! that was a big jump for me in a short time but good prep for my long run this weekend. Wendi thinks we are doing 20 but shhhh I am shooting for 18 and hope to manage to walk the last 2 :)

Have a bunch of donor meetings today so all dressed up...even straightened my hair, heels and everything. gotta look older than 12 today.

Supposed to bike and strength train today..probably after work. wow I haven't biked in 3 weeks! yikes!

Ran same loop as yesterday. Felt the fatigue of 3 runs in 4 days (haven't done that in a while)but by mile 4 I was pushing up those hills, thinking about getting my knees a bit higher and when I realized I could beat my yesterday time I sprinted in the end. Felt good.

swim felt good. Really paying attention to technique and realized I needed to push myself harder on the last 1000...and wow, knocked off 36 seconds!

ok it is pouring out. I am home eating dinner and don't think I am doing shopping tonight. Will finish laundry and this time I AM doing yoga before bed.

Ran the whole way this morning, no walking breaks except when I had to cross the street/wait for light. I pushed it harder than normal on the uphills and tried to push it out on the finish.

Think I am going to do my yoga tonight.

I am focused as heck folks. I have to be. I have my 2nd largest fundraiser of the year 1 week before the MCM so I have to budget my time wisely.

Step 1 today: clean my house and fill it with groceries. Gotta have some good meals precooked and ready for the week.
