Good two hour ride. Took a hillier route and focused on getting a good quad workout by setting good tempo through the hills.

Starting to rethink Detroit Mary. May opt for Philly to give me a little more time. Still a flat fast course.

Felt kinda bad to start but had some eGel with me that I took early in the run (thanks Schmize). Actually made a big difference. And so the quest for BQ begins. RELEASE THE HOUNDS THE HUNT IS ON!!!!

Dude caught up with me on my run this morning. Names Chris. I think we've met before and we know some of the same people. He saw me last weekend and asked how I was doing. He was doing Racine as a check point for IM Madison. Nice to talk to someone and take my mind off the run. Hope everyone has a great weekend. I'm watching the TT right now (DVR). I'm still a fan. I hoe this was a watershed moment for cycling. I'm still a believer.

Pounding the pavement again. Could have gone swimming but I'm probably going to hit the water a couple times this weekend as well as run and bike so...

I love running in the rain unless it is bitter cold and windy. This morning was perfect...humid and gentle rain - enough to get you all wet without getting your shoes all soggy. Keeps you cool. Plus it rained the entire time. That's another factor. If you star out in the rain and then it stops...then you are just damp and miserable.

Love how AG2R's Director immediately went after Contador and the Disco boys. Me thinks the French team and Disco don't get along to well.

Recovery run. Getting the feeling back and starting season two. Gotta download, manipulate and create a running plan.

Caught in training limbo right now. Don't have a plan to get to PP. Just going to apply what I know from running and try to get in percentages of race specific, tempo and distance. In other news I'm still a fan of cycling. I'm an optimist. I still believe in the sweet balance of man and machine. Of individual and team. Umm, whatever. Drugs or no drugs - it still takes huge ones to tear down a thin slice of mountain road at 60 mph.

July 25

Today is the last recovery day. I stuck to it and really wanted to give the body a little break even if just for a few days. Tomorrow its back in the pool and running at night. Getting ready for PP but sites set on my BQ at the Detroit Free Press Marathon.

Is anyone else talking about Vino and the Astana team. To quote David Millar - I just want to sit down and cry.
