Despite the snow storm I managed to get two workouts in today. I am weary from work and was hoping to get more of an endorphin kick that I got from almost 2 hours of non-stop exercise. I did begin the process of registering our team for intramural soccer. I am excited for that to start but it will be almost 5 more weeks till that happens.

Life sure has been hectic the last couple of days. Between preparing for Mondays interview and trying to get together an abstract for a major international conference today I have not had a lot of time to focus on working out. I did get in workouts but not at the intensity level that I had planned. On top of it all the toe is still not healed so running is still out of the question. Tomorrow I have a friend coming in from out of town and thursday I have a meeting and an evening presentation to help kill all my "free time".

First swim class

Major accomplishments to report! 1. This afternoon I had my first swim class and I was the star pupil...well there were only 4 of us and one guy just kept saying "I'm from the desert" so my competition was minimal. We didn't go in the deep end, and that is my swimming problem...I freak out when I know I can't touch the ground. I almost drowned once as a little tiny person so all I need is some confidence to get over that. 2. I completed the primary data collection for my dissertation. My advisor is all proud of me and so am I. 3. I have a job interview...ok it is only a phone interview but I made it to round 3 of a job while being ABD so I must look pretty good on paper. Big party tonight. I am going to fight the bad food temptation by 1) eating before I go and 2) bringing a whole mess of sushi to the party for all of us to snack on. That should keep me away from the evil Doritos!
