Hills, here I come!

The following equipment is nearing replacement:

June 13

Bike
  • 44m 40s
  • 7.33 miles
  • 9.85 Mi/hr

lots of commuting-to campus, to pool, then home

Swim
  • 22m 24s
  • 546.81 yards
  • 02m 48s /100 yards

10 laps backstroke, 1 lap front crawl, 2 laps drills. recorded distance and pace is for backstroke laps only, time is total

Was able to do 10 laps (500 meters) of backstroke swimming non-stop. Flip turns are better. Did the lap of front crawl at the end, when I was tired. That wasn't too smart. My front crawl sucks as it is. Jumped on bike about 10 minutes after getting out of pool. Was low on energy and went slower than normal on my long route home from campus. Didn't eat enough today. Got going on writing a chapter of my dissertation and it was flowing so I barely sopped to eat. So, a bad training day but a great dissertation day.

June 12

Swim
  • 30m 34s
  • 546.81 yards
  • 02m 39s /100 yards

10 laps of backstroke at 3min/100m pace with 2 1 minute breaks (16:54 total time for laps) followed by 15 minutes of drills

Swam 15 minutes of laps followed by 15 minutes of drills. Pool was empty, may try to go at 3pm on Mondays more often. Didn't push too hard so I can swim again tomorrow. Trying to catch up on missed swim training and decide if I would be able to do a sprint with an OWS anythime soon.

June 11

Bike
  • 44m
  • 7.52 miles
  • 10.25 Mi/hr

hills

I moved today's swim to tomorrow. I forgot to bring home my swim stuff and having to go to the office just to pick it up and the cold weather was enough to make doing it tomorrow seem like the best plan ever. Got in the cycling and made it a hill workout just so I would warm up quickly. Did I mention that I hate unseasonable weather?

June 10

Run
  • 15m 40s
  • 1.50 miles
  • 10m 26s /Mi

1 loop of brain

Ummm...it isn't raining but the windchill is 38 at almost 10am! What month is this again? I ran in the heat of the day today...which turned out to be all of 55 with 18mph gusts. A little short of my training plan time for the run but the asthmatic lungs did not like the cold air.

Another day of rain. I bagged plans for a long hike and decided to do some things I have been putting off...which included calling Microsoft Customer Service. After a 15 minute call of frustration I hung up on the "customer service" rep mid sentence and said FCK IT and did my longest continuous bike ride. It rained the whole way but not too hard. I am a muddy mess but I don't feel like killing people as much as I did before the ride. Added in a short strength workout so now I just wan't to maim someone. Progress? I say so.

June 8

Swim
  • 35m
  • -----
  • -----

Mainly backstroke and front crawl technique drills. Ver few rests. Nothing more than a few seconds.

Guess what....it is raining. Again. Took the time to dry my hair after the swim and got rained on the entire walk back to my office. Was gonna run right after the swim. I'll wait till 6 and see if it clears up. I do have a knot in my right hammy. Not sure if a light run would hurt it or help it. Plus putting in a late night on campus tonight. It would be nice to get some work done so I don't feel guilty when I am working out.

June 7

Run rained out. I am going to build an ark if this keeps up.
