Hills workout
drills on 3/4 length lane
Had my first tri-dream last night. I forgot my asthma inhaler and went back to the car to go get it. Somehow I wound up in school buildings...I think I was taking a short cut...and it started pouring rain. I never found the car and never got to the start line. Hmmm...
In the real world....I swam today! I have not swam for weeks so it felt good. The membership office gave me free use of the pool for some unknown reason. I told the guy that I was supposed to pay $25 and he said he'd fix me up for free. Lets hope it wasn't a one-day onlu kinda deal since I don't usually bring my wallet to the gym and I don't want to get turned away again.
So, I took it easy today. Did many drills using the kickboard. Worked on all the strokes and kicks and bilateral breathing. Most importantly I worked on relaxing. I tried to minimize my strokes and kicks and doing the backstroke I was able to get to the rope (3/4 length during rec swim) with only 6 stokes if I puched off the wall and 9 if didn't push off.
Got in half my cycling on the way to campus and will get in the other half on the way home.

UBWO done this am. Run planned for this afternoon. No rain in the forcast, I hope it stays that way. Have resolved to fix the pool membership issue tomorrow.
Great run this afternoon! I think it was a combination of perfect weather and a perfect iPod playlist. Unfortunately it was on shuffle so I may not be able to recreate the order of songs.

One loop of the campus brain
Yesterday's forcast called for an all-day soaking rain, so I canceled my planned hike. It didn't rain at all. This morning I get up at 6am to do a local 5K and we have what I'd call a soaking rain, so no 5K. A huge green blob is covering the state. Hopefully I can get a run in later today but it sure wont be a trail run.
I got in half my run before succumbing to the rain. That's the problem with running a loop 2X, your "home" halfway thru the workout.

The plan says to rest. I will obey the plan...mainly cause the weather killed my hiking plans. I am not a very obedient person except when it comes to the green blobs on the weather radar. Green blobs control my life.
