Washington Park before Community Food Bank morning...My upper body is a little crispy after a hard swim and then clean/jerk of around 300 30/lbs boxes + pallets.

Day went about as expected - legs felt ok until five or so miles of the bike and then were noticably fatigued from race the day before. No will to run, whatsoever. I have said it before, that is the toughest bike course in a sprint you're going to find. Constant sharp up and down, plus a few moments of pretty technical riding; none of it adds up to blazing overall speed, but tell you what: you know you've been in a fight at the end of that bad-boy. Considering this race is inviting to beginners because of the pool swim, I suspect more than a few participants were wide-eyed with surprise and delight at about the half-way point. I took third in Masters but another hollow victory as one of OA finishers, and the two people in front of me in Masters were all from 45-49m, so 4th in AG. Big day for the old guys and I really can't wait to age up again..

Spinbike

It's a double header this weekend:

TriCities 10k on Saturday and triPATHlon on Sun...The 10k is my neighborhood race and the goal is anything sub-44 but it would take something a good bit faster than that to make me happy.

triPATHlon is kind of an interesting race - pool swim/the toughest bike course I know/non-flat 5k. Last year, the race had a good portion of racers new to the sport and I was 7th overall/2nd in Masters to my co-worker. He'll be racing again this year but he's aged up, so the USTA points scoring won't be so generous, assuming he beats me again.

After triPATHlon, I'm not sure I'll do another tri until the fall. Heat makes for an unhappy alltom1...We'll see.
